Ouch keith- the billings plans do show you where the winches pumps bollards etc should be. Could you not check Bob's and Nenads logs for help too? Keith

Decided to have a go at the window frames using the self adhesive paper method (franking labels) cut into 0.5mm strips- boy it was fun! Firstnpacking strips were added same thickness as acetate. Acetate was glued in place with humbrol "clear windows" then strips attatched. gonna be fun painting these! also did some work on the bows. The admiral snook this shot of me working alfresco saying is that hms victory between your legs or are you just glad to see me! Keith

If i were doing thid kit again i would replace the bulwark planking with thin plywood using a piece of card laid along the hull and marked out as a template. Keith

You will need to reinforce the bulwarks if you remove those Keith- I just left them in which i hated but couldn't think how to get around it at the time (18 years ago now!) you could just joggle new planks in where the cuts are? Keith

This has been on my wish list for a couple of years now! Using master gun barrells and the Eduard upgrade which although designed for the trumpeter version is usable with the zvezda one. Heres progress so far. Basic hull went together very well- note the moulded line for if you wish to model her as waterline version. Deck is painted with Humbrol satin oak thinned down. Care is needed as the deck planking is very finely moulded. Master gun barrells and eduard turret overlays in place- those gun barrells sure look nice- pity they will be painted. Keith

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
