There is also one at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome which fles every weekend in their summer airshows -
FWIW these are photos I took aboard the USS Constellation in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Don't know if this is prototypical but these yards were stored on main deck.

Well, that means north of Tappen Zee ! 😉😉😉😉😁😁😁 Welcome from another Upstate NYer

Thanks ! Got 4 sections done. Then the Monsoons arrived, that coupled with supply shortages, put the fencing on hold. Finally able to get more panels, started staining them. Had some water seeping into basement from monsoons, not much but enough to be a nuisance. Faired better than neighbors who got flooded basement. Found the storm sewer on our street was completely plugged by tree root ball,, then road collapsed where sewer was plugged. Spent 2 weeks watching crew clear the blockage, repair collapsed pipe, then re-line the entire length of pipe. Wettest July in years, about 19 inches for the entire month according to my garden rain guages. Otherwise, it's been a quiet summer ! 😉😊😇

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is also American owned and based in Akron OH, they date back to around 1914-1915. Been using their tires for a good 40 years or more BFGoodrich, while originally an American tire manufacturer, is now owned by French tire maker Michelin. Michelin bought the brand in 1990, along with its subsidiary Uniroyal.

Do you mean this MicroMark Block Buster ? -
Looking good Alan. The reflection of the Cliffs in the water looks very realistic. Nice job ! 👍

Several years ago a replica Viking Longboat sailed across the Atlantic and made several Ports of Call alone the Coast including one to the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston NY. Had a beautiful pair of carved figurehead on bow and stern. See photos below. Eric, your model looks great. Well done!

It is ! Their pre-made trees are very good, as are their cast white metal trees. The ground foam works well also. And yes there are some good videos on YouTube .

Alan, this is the Woodland Scenics stuff I used to make the snow fo my Sherman tank winter diorama. The paste goes down first then dusted with the snow. Dries pretty flexible and sets pretty quickly. The snow bottle is also a shaker.

Yes ! Good news! The latest track shows the outer most cone passing roughly 50-75 miles southeast of me later in week.

No, I haven't, Alan. I mostly use the Hydrocal plaster of Paris. Sets up pretty quick, very light weight, works well with the rubber molds, especially the small details. ScaleHobbyist is in New Hampshire and I have had very good service from them.

Just an FYI, Alan, Woodland Scenics makes some really good reusable rubber molds for all types of cliff faces, etc. I've used them on several dioramas. See my Sherman tank build log around post #158 for an example.. Nice job !

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
