Glad to see you are tackling the O16. She's looking really good Carl, nice work. I'm surprised that you had PE problems, I managed to use what was with the kit, except Boris did not include the periscopes and antenna mast, I made them from bamboo. I decided to paint mine in battle grey as she was on her last war patrol. Your choice of colors is before the hostilities started, nice break from the mundane. Is that copper color on the lower part of the hull? Cheers,

Good to see you back Andy. So sorry to hear about your career hiatus, I do understand the feeling - personal experience. Also sorry about your eyes and hope you'll find the right solution for that. Impressive built Andy and keep plugging at her. Cheers,

So good hearing from you Nenad and knowing that everything is going okay - - albeit quite busy. Spend the time with your children now and make it a great time. You take care of yourself and hopefully hear from you soon again. Stay strong my friend. Cheers,

Hell Nils, better late then never with me dropping in. Been busy with hurricane related efforts and a few other things. However, here I am joining you with this fantastic build. As I may have mentioned before this chebec reminds me of the Buginese sloops of yesteryear. I hope to be able to build a model of one of them. It appears that the Buginese prauw design may have come with the Arabs during the introduction of Islam in the East Indian Islands. I know they did give the VOC a lot of headaches in the 16th and 17th centuries. The pirates loved these fast boats. You are really progressing rather rapidly and the shape is already clearly shown. Cheers,

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
