  1. G'day VinceAs you said it's a challenge, and in this challenge I'm sure that you have gain unexpected knowledge. Every mistake that you have made has made you a better modellear,(this is my own word) and you have worked out a solution to fix it! As I have said before, I'm building an AL HMS ENDEAVOUR with 150 + changes and still counting. I've gain a lot of experience this way rather than following the plans, and again like you, I've woken in the middle of the night with the answer to a problem. I'm sure we are not alone with this aspect. As I have said before, this is what make our models our very own unique creations. Keep up the great work! Greg
  2. G'day Alexandru Beautiful work on the deck planking! What size are the planks? 1 x 4 mm? I assume that you will varnish the planking and beams/Ledgers together. Havagooday Greg
  3. Btw. Does your admiral let you do your model INSIDE THE HOUSE? I've been delegated to the garage because of the dust!
  4. G'day Vince Good idea, but is the curve on the pot the same as what you need, or is it close? Greg
  5. G'day Denis Great job! Painting the top of the rails would have made me loopy, when I saw the rails in the pegs, that was when I realised how bloody small they were. Again great job. Greg
  6. G'day Boyd I have spent a few enjoyable hours reading and digesting your log. All I can say to you it's bloody marvellous. I'll be keeping an eager eye open for your next and all the other entries. Keepthemcomingmate. Greg
  7. G'day Danny I pressed the LIKE BUTTON, but there should be an UGLY BUTTON to press instead. OMG was the model in the water for years? With all the green slim on the decking it looked like it was! Do you think you can still do it in 6 weeks? Good luck mate. Havagooday anyway Greg
  8. G'day Dave The detail in your last photo is amazing. LOL I know how boring hospitals are, at least you still got your sense of humour. Greg
  9. G'day Dave My wife, Luz and I will be praying for you! Now get out of there so we can see more updates. LOL Allthebestmate, Greg
  10. G'day Vince I think most manufacturers of kits are the same, that is why all ships are not the same as another. With my experience with AL HMS Endeavour, I'm have made over 150 alterations so my ship will only be mine. Keep up your great work on "your own Royal William,." Haveagreatone Greg
  11. Praise the Lord! If it was me I would need CPR to start my heart again. Now we can say IT IS NOW FINISH! Haveagreatone Greg
  12. G'day Dave I think you should do a production line because I want to place an order like Mark. Havagooday Greg
  13. G'day Steve I'm sorry if "I've put the spanner in your works". I've have been told by the HMB ENDEAVOUR'S shipwright that he had quite a few disagreements with the committee who was in charge of the replica's construction about other things wrong with the ship. Minor stuff like missing crow feet on the masks, missing divats and bumkins. The latter 2 were not put on because of public tripping hazards and the docking problems. Havagooday Greg
  14. Brilliant idea we all should put that in our memory bank. Danny will also like it I think because he used cardboard. Cheers Greg Photo from Danny's HMS VALTURE Swan log
  15. G'day Danny Oh you are in your van away from from your tools........ That's another challenge for you. Goodluckmymattie and try to have some fun. Greg
  16. G'day Alexandru They look very close to be identical to me. Thanks for your answer. Havagooday Greg
  17. G'day Dave Just found your log and in one word: wow. So fast is your progress with all the detailed ornate fittings. There's a saying in Australia : "You must have a rocket up your bum." Again great job and keep the log coming. Hope your ear is ok now. Havagooday Greg
