Thanks Kmart. Its been a long time since I painted the carriages and I'm not sure but I think it was this one: https://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Painting-Supplies/Acrylic-Painting/Alizarin-Crimson-Academy-Acrylic-Paint---2.5-Ounce/p/62135 or this one: https://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Painting-Supplies/Acrylic-Painting/Burnt-Sienna-Master's-Touch-Acrylic-Paint---4.1-Ounce/p/8396

I've completed the forward top gallant rails. A look at the method I used. I used some painters tape and a pencil to get the shape of the rail. I transferred that to a piece of card stock and cut it out. I glued 3 pieces of planking stock together and traced the shape of the curve onto the stock and then cut it out with the scroll saw. After that it was just a matter of bringing it to the final shape with an exacto and various sanding implements. The final result. The next step is to finish up the bow area. As you can see its unfinished here so the first step is painting and then the top rail. I nearly missed the fact that there is a set of knees that go here also.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
