Hello Dan. Nice idea on creating identical gun ports. And it's a nice method to make a battle station with the scale you are working to. Irons out any problems that can arise. Regards Antony.

Hi. Just for interest I got my book from a EBay seller who sells nothing else other than modeling books. He has just informed me that he has lots of books that are by Jean Boudriot. And many plans with books. His shop is :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sirskunkalot/m.html?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2654 I hope this will be usefull to someone. Regards Antony

Hello Gaetan. Very nice build. And I agree with you regarding scratch building. Some people in our local group of modellers struggle to interpret plans and detailed drawings so starting scratch building is not always for the novice. I think that forums like this are a very good help to scratch building. Regards Antony

Hi. I have just purchased the book and it is a excellent resource for ship modeling covering all aspects of the ship. Most diagrams are very clear and precise and to scale. Loads of photos and construction methods are shown and discribed in great detail. I am very impressed with the book. Just one more to get then I am happy. Regards Antony. Looking for book -: The Arming & Fitting Of English Ships Of War 1600-1815 - Lavery - Conway.

Hello all. Not a update today but response to Gary's question below. It's a portable forge used by the ships armourer. According to Haynes workshop manual of the Victory. It's got a hand operated bellows on the underside. Have decided against casting the guns in pewter. Will continue using the black resin casting. Will post a update over the weekend. Regards Antony.

Hi. I thought I would share with you my method of sourcing good quality timber. Well EBay is my answer and not buying raw timber but buying furniture like the one I picked up today. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201030613704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Hopefully the link works. But the item number is 201030613704. It's dry and easy to mill down using a small bench saw. And to buy that much timber would cost me approx £130. There is a thin coat of clear varnish on the surface but because it's hard wood it does not penetrate to deep. Less then a 1mm. Regards Antony.

Hi Raymond. Nice to have you aboard. A interesting project that will give you and us people who look over your shoulder. Got my chair and looking forward to lots of photos on the Triton at this scale. I know you problem have ... But read through others build logs. There is a lot of skilled modellers out there that have built the Triton. Along with them comes a wealth of skills and tips that have helped a lot of people on this forum All the best. Regards Antony.

Hi. Like Craig I also use needle threaders but I bend the ends over then nip the holder onto the wire then I CA the wires. Used to pull the wires out of the threaders so come up with the above methed. But I do like the idea of the nice handle Regards Antony. -
