Because you've done such a brilliant job of rigging your guns and 14 at that, I think I will fully rig my 6😁😉 They do look awesome and was definitely time and effort well spent.

Mediator looks an interesting vessel, I shall follow along with your progress. I downloaded these plans with all intents to do it myself but got waylaid by Winchelsea 🙄 I like the idea of cutting the sub decks pieces together, so if it's ok I'll log that for future use

welcome to MSW, good luck with your Fifie, and please do start a build log as you will find you get plenty of advice and support from the other members on here as they're a friendly bunch. Above all have fun and enjoy your build. 😉👍

A man's got to have a hobby besides railways and ships Ken 😏 I was heavily into the Peninsula war and Waterloo of course. And after reading the Fancy Jack Crossman novels the Crimean war, which was a foretaste of what was to come bout 60 years later. Edit: I know you've read Bernard Cornwell, does that include the Starbuck Chronicles?

Planking continues slowly, not super keen on the walnut I'm using, doesn't edge bend that well but with plenty of heat it eventually bends. I have also started using CA gel from gorilla glue, so much more easier to apply than normal CA. I stopped using wood glue after two planks sprung off. Fitted the main wale using some yellow cedar I had left over from Triton thanks to all for looking in and the likes. Cheers 😁👍

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
