  1. Neat looking aircraft Denis, the black has worked well hasn't it?. I've been looking for another non-ship project and came across this while googling:- For £41 you get the frame and covering and then you can buy the gubbins to make it fly. I think it looks kinda cool😉
  2. Looks good, you could leave his backpack off as he is Voltigeur, he wouldn't want to be slowed down with gear!!! This book is worth a read, I know it's not strictly about Waterloo but follows the 95th through the Peninsula war and Waterloo. Sorry for the hijack OC😉
  3. I would never have thought of doing it that way, I probably would have tried to buy all the figures in one go and had the Admiral questioning my spending 🙄😋 Are you scratch building the farm or getting resin components? The two "Gros Frerès" look amazing OC, I'm already feeling for the KLG infantry.
  4. No, it seems to taper abruptly from the 3rd bulkhead, but when I marked it out for the planks the tic strips also showed tapering from the 3rd bulkhead. The planking worked out but I must do better. I think a little more patience and a sharper pencil for marking as the tic marks are not fine enough and did throw me out by .25 - .5mm. I can use the port side to refine my planking as I would like to be more confident with it before I start Winchelsea!! after a good sanding and one coat of danish oil, ther is a few parts that need attention to remove glue residue and some small gaps that need filling. Thanks for all the comments and likes, it's really appreciated. Cheers till next time 😉👍
  5. We have some great beaches but I can't vouch for the weather 🌧️☔⛈️😁😉 Nice work on your guns, everything seems to be coming together 👍
  6. Can't wait to see your log for Flirt, if you do as nice as Cheerful it will look magnificent ( no disrespect to @James Hor @chris watton). Totally agree cos you cant even take it out the box
  7. It's looking good, very nice planking. 😃 I like the natural wood finish 👍
  8. You turned out another nice plane Denis, what's next on the table, your two Fokkers or Agilis? Or maybe something new
  9. Because you've done such a brilliant job of rigging your guns and 14 at that, I think I will fully rig my 6😁😉 They do look awesome and was definitely time and effort well spent.
  10. and welcome to MSW Jack
  11. Bruce, hope you don't mind me mentioning, but this log may need moving to the scratch build pages👍
  12. Mediator looks an interesting vessel, I shall follow along with your progress. I downloaded these plans with all intents to do it myself but got waylaid by Winchelsea 🙄 I like the idea of cutting the sub decks pieces together, so if it's ok I'll log that for future use
  13. welcome to MSW, good luck with your Fifie, and please do start a build log as you will find you get plenty of advice and support from the other members on here as they're a friendly bunch. Above all have fun and enjoy your build. 😉👍
  14. A man's got to have a hobby besides railways and ships Ken 😏 I was heavily into the Peninsula war and Waterloo of course. And after reading the Fancy Jack Crossman novels the Crimean war, which was a foretaste of what was to come bout 60 years later. Edit: I know you've read Bernard Cornwell, does that include the Starbuck Chronicles?
  15. I'm sure these guys were the "heavies" of the french army, probably their version of the Lifeguards and Enniskillen Dragoons. It's a shame Ney wasted them at the British squares
  16. Planking continues slowly, not super keen on the walnut I'm using, doesn't edge bend that well but with plenty of heat it eventually bends. I have also started using CA gel from gorilla glue, so much more easier to apply than normal CA. I stopped using wood glue after two planks sprung off. Fitted the main wale using some yellow cedar I had left over from Triton thanks to all for looking in and the likes. Cheers 😁👍
  17. Those figures are so much better than the old airfix napoleonic ones from the 1970's. Your painting is looking fine, the saddle cloth and sheepskin are great OC
  18. Yes, she's sitting on her build board waiting for the wood for planking to arrive. I couldn't resist as she looks amazing, though she's a long term build!
  19. I have those in my attic along with a box load of fantasy miniatures for table top battles.
  20. From what I recall reading, it would have been quite muddy in the valley as it had rained most of the previous day and all night, so maybe brown boots and gaiters are called for😁 Are you going to have an artillery piece on the road outside the farm?
  21. Nice painting OC, he is going to look great in the column's firing line advancing down the road to the farm👍 Looking forward to the 95th figures 😃
