Are there any young people making models or are we all old!
My granddaughter was watching me the other day doing some work on my Cutter, after 5 or so minutes walked off saying that she wouldn't have the patience to make a model. 🙄
So I think that unless it's instant gratification like a video game, they tend not to bother. That said there are younger people modelling.

Looks good, I liked those small bomber kits when I was younger as they didn't take up too much room 😏
Denis(popeye the sailor) is the fella to tap up for tail heavy bomber solutions 😉

Do you mind if I ask, did you have the gunport pattern made or did you cut it yourself?
It is taking shape, looking good

Well done bro - seriously you have been through it with this - you deserve some good look and it arrived.
OC.
Yep, so glad it has turned out good, you must feel you've built this dozens of times, but you got there and it looks awesome.
Great work EG
praise for hanging on in there.

Looks a good smooth base, good luck with the top planking Emmet 😉👍

Coming on nicely OC, are you doing it as a Falklands aircraft?
I remember watching them on the news. Awesome aircraft.

It's coming together well Robby, in my opinion a good smooth base is a must for 2nd planking.(I tend to put more filler on and keep sanding)

Thanks OC and mugje, and thanks for the likes.
So planking continues slowly, with the bulwarks between the mainwale and the sheer. I'm forming the gunports as I go instead of cutting them out later. ( there will only be six guns mounted)
I mocked up a cannon to check clearance.
Just a cardboard cut out and glued to a scrap of what will be the deck.
That's it til next time.
The shipyard is being re-modelled to make room for Winchelsea so work stops as I have no bench at the moment.
Cheers

I will own up to one cheat. For the short joints near the bow I scored a joint line on a longer plank that reached the second joint end nearer mid-ships. Tapering, bending, and fitting a single plank at the bow is hard enough, getting a match with a short plank was more than I wanted to do. Hence my joints at a the bow are perfect…because its the same plank.
What a great idea, I'll borrow that if I may.
Cheerful is looking really good, your planking is very tidy and looks perfect with the wop finish 👍

Cool project, seems like a great chance to follow along and learn some more history.
Yes, I love the stories of the Trojan war and subsequent tales of Odysseus trials and tribulations trying to get back to Ithaka and Penelope. I will enjoy watching his ship being built.

Hi LS, just checking in on your Victory, hope you and yours are good?
Cheers

Looking good Liam, first planking doesn't necessarily have to be perfect because sanding and filler will help to get a nice and smooth base for the second planking.
Edit your second post beat me to it 😉
