Thanks RGL. Hmmm, you seem to know my age. Glad someone does. She turned out rather nice. Like the make-up you applied ... I just wondered: the light colour was pre WWI ... at that time she was still British ... or was white running up to WWII ... getting old ... My turn what turn...?

Thanks OC, I'm still looking into the "placement" of the decals. Got enough to plaster the hull with it, so thanks for the offer, but don't bother. Waste of money to use the postal services ...

OC, it is too, cap'n sicum, always nauseous when on board. Glad I'm not tom, never could ketchup ... Look how RGL simply passes me by with his build, never had a chance to catch him (not even up), could not get a long side, even if I wanted to!

Be careful what you write Dirk, you may be blamed for picking on RGL. He's somewhat sensitive with his SMS - as he put it, although, I would just refer to an inferiority complex Oh Greg, it isn't personal, you just bring out the worst in me ... crappy builds, ordering at the wrong internet shop, you know ... the lot ... Oh, nearly forgot, thanks Dirk, and good to have your positive feedback

6'6" matey ... so now it's clear you are picking on me grumpy ... as an aside, you are rather tall for an Aussie I would say ... no Northern European ancestry in your lineage ... I entirely agree (about the capsicum) And that, Mr Bunny, is quite questionable ...

Lovely work, Dan, I'm glad I only have to cut the brass, not cut and make those gussets as well You've got quite a lot of work on that structure Dan

The display is an important part of the build ... thus ... How's the garden clean up going ... I just repaired the fence between the meadow and my garden, trimmed the lawn at those akward corners, and am trying to get my workbench in a state I can actually cut some brass for Vendetta ...

I shan't, I'm awaiting PE from Singapore - paravane items - resin parts from Ukrain, which were OOS. I broke the davits whilst taking them of the sprue, so I'll be bashing them, to start with brass ... if that doesn't work for me - because I can only make them realistic at 1:50, I'll try styrene ... I didn't promise myself such a task, it's a weekly thing ... mowing, pruning, picking strawberries. The latter a daily thing, but not to demanding, besides I always seem to carry in less than I picked on, I mean "up" ... You didn't finish Isuzu !?!?!? Something more to pick on ... stored for future reference ... "One roll lasts forever." ........ don't strech it mate

Thanks all for the interest in the trio build & the likes Thanks Greg, I'll look into that. I tried my hand at 0.2mm brass rod to turn it into a shapely ringlet ... fat chance, they look like manacles for an elephant People whom buy cars for their grandchildren usually are nice, and subsequently nice to talk too ... there is the proverbial exception of course Popeye ... We'll have double the fun, since the whiny is off whinying ... strange he is such an accompished builder ... whom ever would have thought those qualities go together ... I have to admit, Denis, my next build is on it's way from the UK ... I look where paints, e.a. are available and at what price (including postage) then I'll make my decision. I try to get materials from shops near by, but since modelbuilding seems to turn into a forgotten art, it does get harder ...

not elaborate the rigging ...right, I wish I could say that ... I find it hard enough to distinguish where to attach what!!! How did you make the rigging eyelets you have used on the deck, funnels etc. Mine look like monstrosities if i compare them to yours ... Pictures later of last efforts to make it look like a well equiped ship ...

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
