  1. Here's the beginning of your prop. I first cut the prts from a piece of mahoganny 1.5 mm thick, as I didn't have anything else (that was December last, I got a wee bit side tracked a.o. ) As the prop couldn't exceed 1 cm thickness I had to sand the parts down. Both whilst cutting as whilst sanding a few of the parts seem to have a different idea about being a piece in one ... Next up sticking them together and shape it down to a smooth looking prop
  2. I think it will be rather hard to compare the two, as you stated, Mike: " Historically the Fokker and the Sopwith were built in completely different ways " It seems to me the kit manufacturers did as well in their way
  3. bottoms up !! He nearly is since he started making tiny dioramas, does it all by touch (pullin' yer leg) He does a tremendous job on it. I did the O16 he has done, and know a bit what he's up against, I am in awe at what he presents right now
  4. Harry, I almos see digital dust accumulatin' on your log. Hope everything is well Cheers
  5. Hello Robin, Lost in a botle How's your build moving on? Life came in the way or ...
  6. looking good Greg, I am jealous of your temps. Can't do any airbrushing here. After a few days with night temps back to normal (+ºC) we are back to night frost. I'll just have to sit it out again
  7. funderingsmuur = foundation wall stijlen = frame studs - Here they used someething that doesn't resemble studs, but give moer strength to the build. I have drawings for the "Eenhoorn" (wood saw mill) which has the proper wooden studs, that built, however, is a wee bit more advanced, also on the bucket list, but after this one
  8. You could shape the wings into the hawk's attacking stance ... which is half folded to give more speed but still have enough maneuverability. It would also give the wings more strength in that poise ... maybe something to consider
  9. This one is also on my bucket list. Got the original plans too. Fortunately I do not need to convert measurements when it comes to buying wood to build it I will enjoy seeing it take shape Marcus!
  10. Your build is astonishing, Moxis. Beautiful details, like those marvelous door, and window fittings, deck "furniture" like the anchor winch ... Your eye for detail, and the need to replace items (e.g. handrail) when you are unhappy with the result ... it blows my mind ...
  11. Scott, Everybody can build from scratch, for some it takes a bit more time or effort to get the required result. Those blast bags aren't to difficult. Just give it a try, you can always have a change of mind ... maybe you even like doing it ... Cheers
  12. I bend so the grooves will be on the side less/not visible Cheers
  13. I have been absent for a while, and you have made some wonderful additions to her. Looking forward to the rigging ... Cheers
  14. Than I'll charge you for ... hmmm ... $ 1.000.000.000 Nice work Mark. It certainly is a tedious part of the build, but wait for those 2mm blocks to be rigged ... you might reconsider ...
  15. It sounds like you have been looking at an other diorama here at MSW! It sounds interesting, I do wish you luck, although I think you hardly need it with your prowess'
  16. putty,, modeller's putty ... Tamiya or Milliput. I've seen someone making sandbags with the latter, and rather convincing - it's a two component type, Tamiya has an epoxy putty which might do the trick ... I've done some work with the other, the black type when you put it on the barrel you can shape it in the image of the original blast bag ... you can try it out on a plastic spruce from your build ...
  17. Ah, another of your famous "streched" builds full of surprises and additions can't wait to see where it will lead us spectators ...
