Nice work Marcus. Does Schmincke has retailers in the US. I got mine from here, and Germany, the latter cheaper than from the Netherlands. Like the brightness of them, very clear colours, and practical bottles with a pipet

Good for you Nenad. You can even build at a later less hectic time in life. Set your priorities in the right order my friend. You have one life to live ... live it well. If you take to long to update your log, I might just be forced to visit you!!!

Try them in brass You sound a bit sheepish ... loosing your vocal cords ... ? you make up for that in blocks though. Looks good, required time sounds less, but when I think about the 30 odd tripple AA guns I have to make than 30 minutes is a walk in the park Cheers

Welcome ship mate! I 'm glad to be of service Thrilled to meet a new face. You might take a look at RGL's (Greg Lester) mind blowing build logs - I do too but I don't tell anybody Do you have a build log here at MSW? Cheers

Got the perforated beams for the "flight deck" in place (need to take a picture during day time). Finished the covered 25mm AA (12x), and have all parts for the uncovered cut and bent. Remains to put them together. Easier said than done ... Unfortunately life keeps on getting in the way: Had to work last weekend again, so little progress (start to sound like Sam [src] )

Great work on the bowsprit and the jibs. Those cleats look real good, and the lower masts definitely look very promising. Looking forward to the next stages of the masts!

What I like about your build log, is besides the beautiful workmanship, the educational value. It's not just anyone can see e.g. the workings of the running rigging, but it get's explained as well. I start to understand it more - at least I have the impression I do ... Thanks for sharing ...

The ruler in this case is unimportant, but the scale of it is. if the scale of the ruler matches the one on the commercial print, it should be OK ... " If others (Druxey) never had this problem... then it must be me (?)" I'm afraid a lot of people do not realise this happens to their prints, at least if they do not have the commercial printed version to compare to/as reference ...
-
Have you tried to add a ruler on the sheet/drawing to be printed. If that doesn't conform to the scale it should be, you can in-/decrease the size (by percentage) of your print manually in your print setup. To be honest, I haven't had a printer (laser/inkjet) which printed at the exact scale, often caused by the printer's margins

Clare, it's a site wide setting in general x posts per page. So if you have a number of longer posts (a lot of text, images) it may look even longer ... It is not the number of text lines and pictures which is used. You do not have the limitation of paper x inches before the text wanders off ... in fact the internet page is infinite aparently, however, there are limitations, but I will not bother you with that knowledge Looking good !

You need balast anyway ... the only thing is you have to redo the part ... Looking marvelous!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
