Evening Gerhard, Well, that means you'll hear me when I see something ... besides the likes and my admiration of course Cheers
-
Gerhard, That's not what I meant. I meant the fairing of the frames, rounding them to the hull's curvature. When I look at the drawing underneath, they seem to be a bit 'short'(?)
-
Gerhard, When I look at those pictures, you must feel 'framed' ... On those last (or first) three frames, do you have enough body and length to shape them to follow the hull's line?
-
Nenad, You could have a go at hot coals ... although, your model wouldn't like that so much, but as to your feet ... they just might be heat resistant ;-) A nice challenge ... ??? However, I prefer to use them in the BBQ. Don't torture yourself beforehand, when you are rigging it's soon enough, and maybe it's not so bad ... you might even like it!!! Cheers

Gerhard, I went through your log from the beginning ... very impressive ... you really have your work cut out (pun intended) for you ... she's not only BIG, but will most probably be very heavy with what you are planning. So far beautiful work and perseverance! Cheers
-
You've been busy, Marcus. She looks very good to me. With the added weight, you'll not need to be afraid she might be blown from the table, when it's drafty inside Cheers

Kess, The err in building can more easily be overcome, although, superglue ...!!! did you test fit, and glue it on without looking ... I'm sorry to hear about the health problem. Your health is an entire different matter, and I can understand the uncertainty for you and your family. I fervently hope the new treatment will have the desired result, making life easier and enjoyable for you and your family!! You are in my thoughts ...

Beautiful work, Ed. Your brass work really is astonishing. I must be blind, since I can't see/imagine how this works ... searched the internet, but I found only release locks for modern shipping, which didn't match naturally

Jan, I thought so too, it would be normal practice. When I saw the site of the SumWing you only see a single apparatus in the videos, but that is logical, considering the clear view in that 'clear' water. However, since I saw Kees build only three, I started wondering ...

Marvelous work, Mark. It looks the part completely. The other side will be a walk in the park, compared to this side. Smooth sailing ...

Aydin, Your interior starts t look like an expensive hotel suite ... it looks marvelous so far. Before you can mount that brass prop you'll be a few days further, though, at least with the speed you are at currently. Cheers

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
