  1. If a photograph is taken above or below a horizontal line on a curved object, there will always be a drop or a rise visible at the centre of the image, depending if the shot is taken up or downwards Very nice work on the rigging Messis
  2. when that happens it is probably time for overhaul, or the scrapyard ...
  3. Yep, I know the site. Very informative, got it bookmarked somewhere.
  4. Thought you would ... spread it out ... Another holiday!? It seems I keep on postponing any advance on Seydlitz. Just finished a 60 hr working week. My hands seem to miss the immovability require for the job at present. Very frustrating, as I would like to finish the RCN Destroyer too.
  5. did you use the epoxy yet? I just wondered what would happen if you added the sand on top. Does epoxy stick to clinging film/citchen wrap, if not you could put that between the epoxy and the sand ... just a thought ...
  6. I'm not much in favour of the cans, although practical, it is hard to regulate airflow. When the can cools down, it will diminish, same goes for the pressure when nearing the final stotage of its contents. The cooling you can only partly avoid by putting it in warm water, but it has the tendency to float, and seems to popup at the worst of times ...
  7. not much to like about that ... I hope it will be a relative easy fix/repair
  8. So you can turn on the lights The rigging is just an additional mast. Instead of one you do two
  9. Well done! Hollow brass really is a bitch to bend. I might have tried copper and fabricated a jig like the pipe tool a plumber uses
  10. When possible I painted them on the sprue, or if I'm lucky, the attachement holes for the cables to the davits. On BlueTack I find it a pain: Needs painting twice to cover primer, and after that for the colour. Next time I'll try stickin' a sewing pin in the bottom
  11. Hull looks real smooth. I like the way the barrels turned out
  12. That's the way Mark. Looks like you've got a lot of down draft in your shop ...
  13. She's filling up nicely, very crisp details
  14. Nope, your hook would get stuck in the netting. Pictures make things even more complicated with the torpedo nettings, Greg ... I really am curious as how you will tackle this problem
  15. I once made a Deusenberg with steering, looks about the same. Nicely done Denis
  16. Mark watch out for sand build up in a single spot as it will definitely turn against you, and misform the sail
  17. Can you get the curvature when you "stretch" it wet and horizontally between multiple attachment points kind of a sloppy streched painters canvas ... (by the way, it's "Akzo Nobel" a Dutch chemical company)
