  1. Robert, it's allways fascinating to see, what you do with bones. Your boat is a masterpiece.
  2. That's a lot of work, but if you see the reslt of the treenailing I think you will be more than happy.
  3. The choosen timber looks really intersting. I've never heard before of it.
  4. Bob, I would suggest to glue the thicker planks for the deck beams and so on first. So you can easier avoid culmulative errors by the planking job. I start the planking exakt in the same way and had the prob with these errors.
  5. Mark, is there not a big risk to damage the gratings and other openings?
  6. Guy, I don't know. It's a decision of the board admirality, if they like to offer a second set of drawings. I don't know in the moment if I can use the square frames of the community build. But this is my intention. Than I only have to change the cant frames. The second reason is that I need a lot of time for the drawings. In the moment I have started the build of HMS Fly and I like to complete her before I start with the build this beautyful frigate.
  7. Larry, can you show me please a picture from the side? It looks that you have sanded to much at the top. and that there is the inner layer visible.
  8. Larry, sorry to say, but I think you will become some problems with the layer method if you sand down the deadwood to it's original size. It's very important to taper the inner layer before glueing the other layers on it. Please have a look at the description. Edit: I changed the link to the description on MSW, perhaps it's helpful.
  9. There have to be some drawings with every piece for the Knee of the Head, Deadwood and so on in the collection of the MSW drawings.
  10. Hi Jürgen, nice to see your build of the horrible Leopard on MSW.
  11. Karl, as allways absolut fantastic. In a very far future I hope I can build my models nearly accurate than you.
  12. As far as I know the cant frames are sitting under another angle on the deadwood as shown on the original drawings. This simplification was made to build the hull only with double frames. I will get the original drawing of the NMM later this year and will prepare some drawings because I like to build the model after HMS Fly with the original frame design as shown on the original drawings. If I can fix the problem with the MSW drawing I let you know.
  13. Gary, it's a big pleasure to see the wonderful pictures of your beautyful model again and again and ... Your model and accuracy is a big inspiration for me.
  14. The hull is looking very good. Congrats to reach this first milestone of your build.
  15. Daniel, for my HMS Fly I prefer pear, box and holly. I bought the pear at Hobby Mills in the US. That is a lot shipping cost and some tax, but the timber is excellent. I will place my next order also by jeff. Instead of holly you can also use maple.
  16. Welcome at the Triton Shipyards. I wish you a lot of fun and success during your build.
  17. Fantastic work, Giorgio. I like espacially the combination of wood colors you choose for the spill
  18. Garward, I've totally overseen the recreation of your fantastic log. Thank's a lot for the work.
  19. I take a seat, chipy and coke and will follow your log with great interest.
  20. That I call a surprise Your model looks really good. It's a big inspiration to see a finished model with the rigging.
