  1. Hi Jake, I belive that belaying pins were not use for a hundred years. After the Mayflower, but I would ask @allanyed he my go to guy when I need to know anything, he has the answers lol.
  2. Hi Jake, I wonder the same thing when I was building my Mayflower, by Amati. All I found out was they used chamber pots on the bow grating. I guess they sat anywhere from the ladder to the door, just guessing lol Now I don't have to ask Grandpa Phil what is "seats of ease" . Hope it helps .
  3. I got to see the SS Klondike back in 1978. I flew to Inuvik from Edmonton, then after a day there I took a bush plane to Eagle Plains to paint a motel there. We got caught up with the drywallers so they sent my boss and I to White Horse to get supplies. So we took a 1/2 ton truck down the Demster HWY to White Horse, they put four spare tires in the back of the truck and said good luck hope you make it lol. We had 3 flats on the way there and two on the way back, I was told it was because of the permafrost the road was build and it cracks along the road not across it . Well in White Horse we walk around the SS Klondike What a trip I still rember it clearly well most of it lol but I do rember the river boat lol 😆 😜
  4. Welcome to MSW!!! It's the place to be !!!

  6. Looks great my friend, congratulations on yet another fine build. It was fun tagging along. Well done
  7. Oh you lucky guy. I was thinking about it, but I have no idea how to use them. Plus now my little pest problem has grown into a pile of money to fix oh well what can you do. Lol Good luck on your new tool,
  8. Hello JB. I have the King of the Mississippi to do myself, next build. It will be awhile though, got a Pegasus to finish first. Will look for your log for it. Welcome back!!!!
  9. Thanks so much Tom. The family is doing great we are all smiling today. No pest movement for two days.😁. They were Norway rats. It will take a couple of months to clean up, disinfect everything and repair the walls and ceiling. Enjoy following along your attention to detail is amazing great work. The Pegasus will have to wait a few months but I will be back
  10. Abandon Shipyard !!! Had to move all my builds upstairs. Due to pests moving into the shipyard I have to shut it down, for several months. The family has been sick, but we are feeling better all around. So I settled in on making the masts, and heard some scratching from the ceiling. Yep , pests. Darn and I wanted to try and get my Pegasus done by the end of May. I was shooting for the end of May because that will be Three years that I have been a member of NRG and MSW. I have been having the time of my life. It is just so much fun. I can hardly wait to get better at this. I have learnt so much. At least I will be able to follow along with logs, it will give me time to catch up on some reading lol. The first Mate says to picture the enemy like this . But it's not working , I am so depressed about not building models, if I did not have so much to do I would go crazy lol. Talk to you all when I can , Sea ya.
