Wow 1700 clove hitches, I would be in Heaven. You know if you sing the ratline song it go's by fast. 99 ratlines on the wall. 99 ratlines on the wall etc...... Do that 17 times you'll be done in no time.17 sounds better than 1700 lol. Enjoy, they say ratlines are therapeutic, I need therapy. Lol The ship is looking fantastic Glen Bob M & crew !!

I put the anchor rope on, yes I still have not found the knights feather for his helmet. But I still have time, I do have a back up plan for it if I don't find it. We will see. I decided to put the masts away and do a little bit more work on the lower deadeyes. Boy are these delicate, on the port side some suffered some chiping and some are slightly deformed lol but they look pretty good touched up. On to the starboard side for the deadeyes, then more mast work along with the bowsprit. Also I primed some figures. The larger Duchess is for the display stand, and the smaller one along side of Mark Twain is for the ship. Well that's it for today, tomorrow after all is another day. Another line from a great movie.lol The crew says hello and thank you . Update soon lol. Bob M. PFC GP Goober

Well finally. It has been a ruff couple of months,to say the least. Got the covid cleared up, but managed to rip some tendos and stretch the ligaments in my left leg. Then fell into a mass depression. It sucks so time to put the big boy pants on a get back at her. Goober is ready, let's start making the bowsprit, then the foremast. Followed by the main and mizzen masts. Then I painted them all . Next up all the blocks and woldings, cleats, stays. Then clean all the holes out and get the yards ready. It sure is good to finally start building again. I can smell the ratlines in the air, lol. I started serving some lines for the shrouds, but that is going to take a little practice to get it just right for me. I done several lines and they are starting to look good. Serving and seizing will slow things down but at least I am moving lol. I got my Duchess of Kingston figure ready to paint but I have lots to do on the ship first. Hopefully it won't take me so long to post again. We will see, the first Mate went to see her sisters for a week so I should be able to get some building done while she gone lol 😆 Bob M PFC GNOMER PILE GOOBER.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
