    Hi John, I can relate! We had our first good freeze last night (28 deg) and gardening is over for the year. I have walked into the man cave all summer and see my Rattler right where I left her in the spring, knowing our winter is coming and I’ll get back at it. Like you (and many others I’m sure), sometime during each day, I open up the forum to see what’s going on with the builds I follow. Ive learned that lots of builders share other parts about their lives and hobbies and it’s fun to see them share! I too have surmised the rattlesnake (being a single plank construction) is not the robust tough easy to handle ship that a double planked hull model is. I remember “man-handling” my Lady Nelson and it surprised me how tough it was. Look forward to getting back at it and seeing your progress as well. 👍😀 Dave

    Thanks Ed, I bought the MS paint set for the Rattler, however, I won't use the hull paint they have in the set... It's too dark for my liking, kind of like an almond brownish, sort of, kinda. 😆 I have taken the summer off, big garden, golf, good weather etc.. However, I bring up the forum everyday and keep in touch with the folks and the builds I'm watching (especially the rattlers). 👍 😀

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
