I'll keep plugging away at something, like the title says keeping my head in the game....
My doc and surgeons have said that basically.... keep going and don't stop is the best mental and emotional health thing we can do. The body many times follows along.

Welcome to MSW, Johann. I'd suggest you have a look at this topic as it'll give you some good help gettnig started selecting a model to start with.

Welcome to MSW, Nic. There's some very nice work there on that model. As to which ship... I take it no plans, notes or anything else related found? This may be hard to sort out. It looks familiar, probably late 1700's and English I'd guess. I hope someone else will recognize it.

I've moved this topic to the appropriate area. I suggest searching this area and also have look at our sponsors. Ropes of Scale and also Syren have great looking rope.

Sort of interesting news story. Wreck was found in 1993 but archeologists are now taking a closer look.
Now, get this quote from the article:
Really.
I saw that article and the weight of those cannons had me laughing. I realize it's a type (obviously) but I wonder want thr real weight is?

Thanks for the update on Maggie, Keith and on you. I know the feeling of running amok like a headless chicken but in the end, it's worth it. Hang in there, both of you will get through this.

Unless there'another planking layer about all you can do from my view is fill in the gaps, sand, and paint. If another planking layer is being added, go to the top of the page, click on the "more" button and read and heed the planking tutorials. You'll still need to fill and then sand and smooth out the hull before adding the second layer. It's not a uncommon issue and almost all of us have been there in our early days of modeling.

EG seems to have the solution and he's right about the worn paths. There probably would be a "path" even from the runway to where the bomber is sitting. I remember hearing tales from my uncle (B-24 pilot) who often described the issues with the airfields in England and the mud or "@##$%^%$$ mud" as he put it. (use your favorite words for the full description).

I've decided to pause my other projects since as a result of my stroke my memory has failed in some areas. Mostly it's working but some things are gone forever like "how to plank" while other things are coming back to me. So, after much thought, I've ordered the NRG Planking Project. I've downloaded the manual and am reading through it. The kit should be here this coming weekend.

Totally mindboggling details at this tiny scale and looking perfect.

I'm right there also, BCD. Hit the wall hard this time. I'm considering the Half-Hull project from the NRG as my wall I hit was the planking. Seems to be a reasonable price and a well thought out project.

Yes they officially made railcars, but in reality the factory was "sold" to Bofors, and they continued to make guns under the Bofors name until about 1934 when they finally bought themselves out of it and a year later bought Bofors itself...
Krupp was one of the most powerful industrialists in the world like Ford, Benz, Messerschmitt, Westinghouse, DuPont and several others... The normal rule of law doesn't apply to them...
Some years ago, been so long I forget the title, I read a thick book on the Krump empire. It's beginnings to time of it was published. A bit of an eyeoperer to say the least with all the industries and government areas they had their hands in.

BTW, I really like this ramshackle and improvised appearance of those buildings. I alwways found it strange, that in the USA there is so much more photographic evidence of such buildings compared to Europe. Perhaps photography was much more frequently practiced in those early years of its development in the USA then in Europe. Or our numerous wars have wiped out such buildings and necessitated rebuilding. Or we tended to build more in stone than in wood.
I'd think it's a mix of things but yes, the wars had a huge impact as well as building from stone.

Looking good on the early work. I suggest you open a build log from here on out instead of this area.

Welcome back, Bug. Horrible what happened to your daughter but I'm glad things are better now. Trauma is never good and dealing with it is always a priority. .

I’m thinking about getting an Airbrush. Does anyone here have experience with it? What would you recommend? What do you use it for? Thanks in advance!
Welcome to MSW. You might consider doing an intro in the New Members area.
Use the search feature (upper right hand side of any page) and in this subform, search for air brush. You should get a large amount of hits.

Very brief update. Thanks for the likes. The kit came in Monday and I've spent the last few days re-reading the instructions with the kit in hand and clearing my work area. I hope to have progress on the actual building later this week.
