  1. It's great to hear everyone there is doing well, Nenad, including Rhea. Looking great on the plug. As Carl said: "You can start your production line."
  2. Just an update, nothing to report. Very slow going removing the forest from the hull as I don't want to break anything or pop off any planks. Still fiddling with the Deathstar but I think that problem is nearing the end. And life just keeps getting in the way, lately. Thanks for the likes, the comments, and the interest in this build.
  3. Just go for it. Follow the guidelines and look to the ones in the forum for guidance.
  4. Cathead, Check your local library for an interlibrary loan. When I lived in a small town in Missouri, the local library (and all the ones arouind us) were able to use it.
  5. Do not be embarrassed. Your carvings are beautiful works of art.
  6. What Pete said. The removable part was more for cleaning out debris than checking the water level. The limber channel was for the water to drain into the well and given the nature of the ships, it wasn't unusual for them to get clogged up.
  7. The only thing I know that's out there for Granado is the Anatomy of a Ship book. It's basically just plans.
  8. Hi Jed, Welcome to MSW. Go with Anja's advice about the model. The manufacturer... that's horse of a different color. There's been a lot of discussion on intructions, etc. here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/forum/24-wood-ship-model-kits/
  9. Nice metal work, Jack. Just tell anyone who asks, that the welder was an apprentice. Seriously... looks very good from here.
  10. It's great to hear from you again, Remco. I think we were all beginning to get worried. As for "cheating"... no such animal in my book as the results are important. Laminating isn't cheating, IMO.
  11. It's great to see you back, Adam. As for your seat at the table.. it's been waiting for you.
  12. It's sad, Lextin. But at least it will be protected while you're out having an adventure.
  13. Pure engineering artistry, Wefalck.
  14. Looking good. I like the way everything is going. The limber strakes look great.
  15. Here's links to the build logs I found... http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/11080-hms-endeavor-by-hof00-artesania-latina-whitby-cat/ http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/2917-hmb-endeavour-1768-by-olopa67-artesania/ http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/92-hmb-endeavour-by-greg-lester-finished-artesania-latina/ http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/2773-hmb-endeavour-by-bankie-al-160-circa-1768/ I hope this helps....
  16. No problem... Here in the States, this is a hidden movie. I was looking for it and there really wasn't much out there. I don't do Netflix, so I'm even more in the dark.
  17. Personally... I'd go with the Triton or Echo Cross-Section to get a feel for full-framed builds. Echo is a bit more complex than the Triton so that's a toss up.
  18. We've had at least 4 topics on this.... Do a search from the main page using "Ruyter" (without quotes) as the keyword. It's true.. not much if any press in the US on it.
  19. Very nice on the gaffs. The details are bringing this ship alive, Denis.
  20. Kurt, I'm still sorting things out myself. I've found that if I can use it in my scroll saw, it'll work in the jewelers and fret frames.
  21. By best, what do you mean, Kurt? Blade selection is based on teeth per inch and ensuring at least 3 teeth on cut at all times. I tend to use Sawbird's blades or Olson's... depending. Side note: Some blades for the scroll saw are reversed tooth at the bottom of the blade to reduce the chances of tear out.
  22. If you are planning the gundeck, I would think that's what the holes are for.. might be wrong. I did the gundeck on my Constellation and it required a lot of rework of the kit to accomplish. I'm not sure how much rework you'd need to do but it can be done if you want it bad enough.
