Good evening everyone some of you know i was building a cold war destroyer HMS Fife in 1/72 scale, but i was approached and ask if i would be interested in parting with her, which after a couple of months i sold her on, with the funds from that i have put them towards my next build before i do that i must complete or show willing to the wife that i will complete HMS Victory, which has been on and off the work bench for 7 years now so i have started this thread to use as a testing ground for ideas and research the new build is 1/32 scale - 66 inches long, made by a UK company Mountfllet models BUT there is more (more i hear you say) yes i will be opening up one side and displaying here as a static cutaway here is my first picture of the kit, which will be ordered after the Warwick show which i believe to be early next month http://www.mountfleetmodels.co.uk/st-nectan.html

Thank you Steve, for your detailed answer, i am looking for another build on completion of the Victory, and would like to got for a merchant vessel of some kind, without the need to build a hull, I had been hoping to get a decent scale paddle steamer hull, but very few manufacturers make them, I must admit i like the lines of your currant build, and will continue to watch progress until i make my mind up

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
