  1. thank you, sorry i have the Fife on hold, but there is a real reason to complete the Victory (watch this space)
  2. good evening everyone im actually quite excited to be back at work on the Victory, and she is presently being worked on most days, (subject to being at work 5 days a week) the Bowsprit work continues, and the spirit yard is now complete (i think) lol i keep finding another rope to be attached https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spritsail
  3. Good afternoon Jerry, everything is good this end, Vic is well and truly back on the build table bowspirt is quite a way into being rigged
  4. received and replied David (yipeeee) kevin got a message
  5. i hate to keep opening up old logs, but as it is a few years down the road, since the last post, is there a definitive way ahead on rigging this kit,
  6. Sid good afternoon, the Dianna will be my next build, after The Vic is completed, LOL i will still be a long way behind you, but will learn from your progress
  7. Lovely work, just been reading through your log, and taking notes towards my next build, but am noticing things that will help on my present Victory disaster
  8. i knew this would come in handy again
  9. Sorry, i have totally missed your build log, i will whip myself with (well something that dont hurt to much) lovely work
  10. lovely work, very tidy and clean lol more than can be said for mine,
  11. Well that is certainly food for thought isn't it thank you Keith and Bob So i have to put this quite simple, the book is ok, based on what he saw, however what he saw wasn't correct, as it may well have changed over time, or never right in the first place
  12. Druxey Good evening thank you for your reply, i am hoping to complete my Victory this year, and realy would like to build a 5th rate, but to do it with some accuracy, 1/48 to 1/72 sort of scale, would prefer a kit to bash rather than scratch
  13. oh dear, and only yesterday i posted a question about a doner kit to build a 5th rate iaw with the lennarth petterson book "rigging period ship models" oh hum back to square one for my next build
  14. WOW What a lovely piece or work, so looking forward to the next update,
  15. lovely work, nice to catch up on your projects again, i have been very quiet for the last couple of years doing non wooden ships and found it very hard to keep up with builds that i was previously following
  16. well as stated above i have gone back to the Victory, i quess i am a person with ideas way above my skill sets and dreams way above storage arrangements, and that is partly the reason for this build being laid up for two years, perhaps some one will remember i was looking at a diorama, well like this one but had the ships launch pulling her to find a light wind well 7 years down the line reality has kicked in and i am just unable to complete that task, so i looks like, well a build without sails, having accepted that fact i have spent the last day cleaning her off, repairing a little damage on the bowspit again (always getting in the way) and now setting the two yards fitted to it
  17. its just over 2 years since i did any work on the Victory, so as of today she is back on the work bench, new mancave and my fav build, what more could a 60 year old ask for
  18. hello my friend nice to see you posting again, lol i have actually finished my build of the Bismarck (although it is the only one i have finished) permission to follow again
  19. Thank you, I had a very nice day ( infact a long 6 day weekend), my birday pressie was treating ourselfs to the conservatory being rewired for some non messy boat building within the house, will post photos later
  20. yes a very good review, but wish Resin looked better, to me it always looks like so much work is required to get a semi decent result
