Somehow the words "hospital food" and "quality" just don't seem to fit together in my experience.  :P  :P   I think I'll move to Oz if I need to be in one.

Good luck with the procedure Patrick and I'm sure that everything will be okay.  You are in my prayers.  Come to think about it, my prayer list is getting rather long so you better do okay.

Cheers,

Best of luck from a fellow three-time sufferer Patrick. Passing a kidney stone is much more painful than passing a kid (statement verified by women, I would never make such a claim). You should try to incorporate your kidney stone (they're surprisingly small) into Majellan to make a really personal model.

There are puns everywhere my friend, but we all wish you a speedy and safe recovery. I'll be praying for you and your family today. It's harder on them even though you are going through it.

God bless

Hi everyone and many, many thanks for your best wishes.  Thanks especially to Michael, Crackers, Greg and Greg (DVM27), for your recent messages of support!

Well, I'm back!!!  Got discharged a couple of hours ago.  The surgeon found even more of the little buggers (which didn't appear on the CAT Scans or X-rays) and he was able to get rid of all of them.  Thank God.

Incidentally, Greg's comment about the pain being worse than childbirth was verified by the nurse who wheeled me into the operating room.  She said that she felt for me because the pain was indeed worse than childbirth! How did she know?  Well, she was pregnant at the same time as having kidney stones!!!  If anyone could verify such a comparative statement, I reckon she was uniquely qualified to do so.

Anyhow, the recovery process has started and I hope to be back on deck in a few days.

Thanks everyone for all of your support and best wishes.

Patrick

G'day Patrick

Glad that you are home in 1 piece, that is minus the stones.

Remember your admiral is there to look after you, not to nag! So take her advice and rest my mate.

Havafastrecover.

The entire time I was in Iowa City I was dreaming about BBQ spare ribs and sloppy joes.

Patrick, always wanted to ask - do you have some kind of a "group photo" of you models? They are so miniature and you build them so quick, should make an impressive fleet!

Dear Patrick, I am very happy that all went well with your operation, hopefully you ll get over this incident very soon. As for the boat, this is such a nice and unusual project! Take care of yourself, I guess we ll now be seeing bottles of water instead of fruit in the background...

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi everyone

I'm back!!! Thanks for all the well wishes-greatly appreciated!

Well, over the past couple of nights, I was able to use the wooden plug as the mould for Majellan's hull. The results are below, which show the rough hull removed from the plug. Please note that it looks rough and messy, only because it is! Next job is to sand all the putty off, add the transom, etc, etc.

Lots of work to go, but it's good to at least get back to building again.

Thanks

Patrick
