This repartee is light years ahead of what passes for comedy anymore. The work y'all are doing is interesting, but the banter takes the cake. Keep on truckin'.

All Carl would let us keep up here was the swinging chair we are sitting on and a bag of popcorn! He was so worried about stuff falling on him he has not allowed any of the bottles of grog the rest of you get to have. So no empties!:( I could dangle a few spiders in front of him if you want though!

Well, we do have several flavors of English going here Carl (Mother tongue, US, OZ and the rest of yuns). I give the non-native English speakers a ton of credit for following the mish-mash of idioms. So we can really get sideways if we throw in a little French, German, Dutch or whatever. Yak away. :)  Oh and find a helmet in case the incoming gets any worse. ^_^ I like both your approaches, but am really interested in what Denis brews up for us rabble in his portion of the build. Build on.

As are we all ... even the poor sods in the rafters! If you come down Lou, you can get a tot of whatever you fancy ... after that you can go back up again ... if you feel you belong there ... personally I do not feel very god-ish

I have a very large bag of roasted peanuts in the shells. You know ! The kind we used to get at the Ball Park.   I could always rain the shells down on him :D after all we rafter sitters are in the peanut gallery, right !?!? ;)

Yes it is amazing that with all the native languages represented here on the forum in general that more stuff is not misunderstood! My native tong is American English and even I don't understand it much of the time.

You have had peanuts all this time??? I LOVE peanuts!!!

I can't wait for the third third interpretation of this ship either. It almost sounds like Denis is going to go for a post 1940s converted escort version. You guys could have had twenty people building the ship and all of them could have chosen a different time and look. The same thing happened to the WWI US 310' Four Stacker destroyers when they were taken out of mothballs for WWII.

Morning from Oz. Too early for rum (though it is mother’s milk), I was once asked by a chap from Africa why Aussies only speak one language, I told him because we and the kiwis are the only ones down here.

You notice Cog learnt to speak English from a pirate, which is very impressive as I thought it would be Vikings up that ways.

I read in Preston's book (see a.o. the pages in a few posts before this one) the V & W class destroyers wwere far better than their German counter parts, despite the fact that the German ships had bigger guns. Those however were not as stable as the V&W destroyers which could still operate at a rough-ish sea ... I'm glad you English got something right ... else we all would have been German ;) darn I already am ... partly ...

Anybody in for a test? What's the paint colour of the props ... (brand an' colour[nr] possibly)

I love the red lower hull color carl,  it looks like RN Anti fouling red, I assume this would have been kept constant.

I just took a bottle from the red section, added some drops of white and got sprayin' ... It does look the colour though ... lucky streak

Keep on breathin' RGL, your head is getting rather red-ish ... or did you play with my anti fouling ...

Hi all, I have been following from up in the nose-bleeds seats :)  If I was to pop down for some 'mother's milk' I don't think I could get back to my seat again - any room down in the 'posh' seats?

For OC - you have the wrong perceptive view mate :-upside_down_2.thumb.png.0951ddf1e6e1a173fdb2878999c42f9e.pngThis is how we see it ;)

Very nice builds BTW.

cheers

I need a copy of that to remind me of how others may see things. Kind of strange seeing my home located on the 'other' coast though.

Do you have a flat earth map for that 'other 'crowd?

I used to know someone who kept a very large Iron for his flat earth theory,    he also thought on the other side it was just plain.

I always wondered what the Flat Earth people thought was on the other side. Was it like a coin with the northern hemisphere on one side and the southern hemisphere on the other, or like you say empty on the back.

Being retired gives you the time to seriously reflect on matters of importance like that.
