Thank you all for the likes and comments (I must be getting old, start to repeat meself )

 

Lou, the wire on the H-stack is copper, the wire from a CAT5 network cable, on the funnels is EZ-line (the thinnest they've got). The funnels are in reality wire, whilst the stacks are supported by bars.

The bent thingies aft of the rear most funnel are as far as I know pumps or something like pipes to connect hoses to. Can't find it in any of the (tribal) destroyer books I've got

The other bent thingy at the edge of the deck is my poor replacement for the crane I messed up

 

Greg, you are quite right, I'm past the point of noreturn

 

Denis, When I compare my camouflage with yours, Dan's, or Greg's, than this one is pretty straight forward. Besides ... I hand painted the deck furnishings and superstructures, which makes alignment a lot easier

If we are talking about the same thing then it will look fine when you add what I assume will be the lines and pulleys that will be needed. So far I haven't seen anything that is a poor representation of anything. Everything that fits that description is here in my house, Including me if you ask my wife!

Cut a tiny length of card that you can lay on the deck. It will give you a backdrop and help you see the hole that you have to put the rigging through.

Thanks for the tip ... although, I won't be needing it for these stanchions ... these do not have holes ... they have indents ... so much easier than trying to pass the thread through the needles eye ...

Thanks Denis, tried the tinsels on the ship's boats, but somehow it just didn't look right with the camouflage ... to brilliant and shiny to suit the entire ship ... mayby if I painted the hull sparkly green and silver ... addeed some Xmas coloured depthcharges, and some Santa sigars, and red shiny liferafts ...

Probably because paint was scarce ... different point of view ... I like tho hospital ship with the cross wires ... easy to focus

My railing is EZ-line, an elastic thread, which can't stand the heat, so I'll not bring it into the kitchen. I'll be glueing with CA.

It just depends on the strength of the thread, and stiffness of the stanchions , Steve... I am working with it - third model I use it on - so far you haven't, and hence miss the knowledge. That's the fun part of this site ... you get so much knowledge through other person's builds besides your own. You only need to ask to enlarge your wealth
