Don't be in such a rush to finish, my friend.  That's when builder's remorse sets in ..... it's like losing an old friend.  Then, suddenly, the wheels in your head start turning, the catalogues come out and smoke comes out of your computer as you peruse the internet.  VOILA ..... still another new model is delivered to your door  :D  :P  :D

Finally after a while an update at the San Ildefonso.

I have place the deadeyes and the chains.

The rope that you are seeing hanging from the top of the mast is my guide to see how the chains have to go.

You also see the same thing at Mobbsie's Aggy.

We where talking about it a few days ago and why give him a hint and don't do it myself ?

Not all the chains are following that, because there where some cannons in the way  :(

When I was placing the deadeyes, I found out that I have not enough deadeyes of 5 mm……strange….

When I take a close look at the drawing I found out that at the stern , there are no deadeyes of 5 mm but 4 mm…..

So remove all those and replace them with the 4 mm.

Problem solve !

She is really coming to life now, my friend!  Very handsome.

BTW - like the new avatar, Robbyn!

Hi Sjors,

Really very nice, I liked especially lateral windows of the stern (I don't know its exact name)

And these buckets behind SI and on the wall, are from HMS Victory or a ship something like?!...  m0161.gif

Very decorative and functional...

@ Wayne, Thank you very much  :D

@ Ferit,

You always found a way to make me laugh….

Those buckets are not from the Victory or any other vessel.

They are coming form…..i don't know it anymore…o yes, Ikea !

@ Mick,

You are still a young man  :D

And I need Tamayita tape otherwise it not goes that straight !

@ larry , thank you also.

She is impressive !

She is bigger then the Le Mirage !

And the Aggy is bigger….

So in a few years, three of those big ones in the house .

I have to move to a palace or something like that.

Very nice Sjors, very nice indeed!  :)

Leave that Aggie alone .... you have enough to do with this one and your mirage.

Also, you or Anja are obviously talented wood arrangers... not everyone can claim that title but 10 thousand US is sadly out of my range  :P

She looks spectacular Sjors.  Both of your ladies are coming together nicely.

Don't sweat the angle on the chains just because they pass in front of a gun port.  That problem usually disappears after the initial salvo :D  :P  :D

@ Randy,

Thank you  :D

I leave the Aggy where she is……in the box !

It's nice to do something else then alone rigging.

Because the price is out of your range, for you it's free  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Patrick,

Thank you also.

Yes, I want to do something else then rigging.

So a little bit further on the other beauty.

I think I gonna start with the masts.

Le Mirage is not walking away  ( I hope )

@ Augie,

Nobody tells you that cotton cannonballs don't course any damages ????

So I have to go around it.

@ Andy,

You are over reacting  :P  :P  :P

I have placed a few updates on the Mirage….

Oke, there al the same, ratlines !

But what will my build log will be without all the side steps?

It's the same as a ship without a realworkingsailor  :D  :D  :D

Great to see some progress Sjors. She really is looking good. And a ready-made excuse for not doing the rest of the rigging on Mirage (yet)! :P

Love the big pic - colors!!   Love the colors.   Am tempted to seek out a ship (for the future now, not the immediate future) with some color to her.  Looks really good!!!

Very nice work on this one as well Sjors - but then again, it is you: what else would I expect!!!  wait.. where are the rat lines! (ducks and runs)
