Sjors, the ship's boats are great. Please tell me what filler do you use? My 18 footer is at the end of its first planking and according to my daughter she would rather get into a sieve than the one built by me if any boat she was on was sinking! I feel that just a touch of filler before the second planking would make it look so much better.

Cheers Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks  :D  :D

I have used balsa filler Model lite.

I think it is for model planes but for ships it worked also very good !

A little water and it goes smoothly !

A little update but only with words...

One netting is finished !!!!!

And now comes the big issue.....

I need 7 of those and we can find 5....

So where are the other 2 ?

The builder who has find them, please send them back to me.........

If I can not find those then I have a BIG problem !!!!!!!!

Moving around is not good for things.

We have to check the box with missing items, perhaps they are there.......

In the mean time there is an update on the SotS.

At least something !

I have to use the search function to find this build log  ;)

Man, there was a lot of dust on that !

I have some news.

I ordered a new sheet by Caldecraft for the hammock cranes.

I had destroyed the old ones by doing it totally wrong !

My dear wife ( Anja ) will make the new nettings for me  :D  :D  :D ( thanks dear )

When the sheet is arrived I will paint all the cranes, make them on a plank of wood, put rope true the eyes and I will hand it over to Anja.

When she is finished I can go further on the Aggy and will finished her before I go further on the SotS.!

Please be patient for a little longer.....

Thank you !

A bit of dust just adds a great patina Sjors; adds to the intrigue  :P:)  We can wait (but not for too much longer ;))

Hello there all around the world.

I have received my sheets for the hammock things and will continue the Aggy.

The SotS will be on hold till the Aggy is finished.

So far two small hammock netting things are in place.

And for Pat, two pictures  :D  :D

Looks good, Sjors.  I am, however, going to show my apparent ignorance by asking what that is attached to the mast in the second photo...almost looks like an electrical device, but I am pretty sure that isn't true!

Merry Christmas to you & Anja!

Not good ?????

A Merry Christmas for you and Rosalie and Brett and Dakota also.......

Do I forget anyone ?

That's looking very good Sjors, a really nice model of Aggy;

...... and many thanks for your consideration - two photos for two eyes - let it be known that I am not a one-eyed critic  ;):P :)

I am also intrigued, what is that clipped/fixed to the main mast (or is it just a perspective thing with the photo and it is not attached?

cheers

Thanks you all for the comment and likes !

Anja was taking a look at the pictures and in the first picture she was not amused with with she is seeing.

She is telling me that that one should be much better so I had to remove it and make a new one.......

And you know that she's the boss in the house so.....

4 pieces of brackets are waiting now for the netting.

When Anja has time and I go to work she will do that for me  ! :D  :D

@ Two - eyed Pat  ;)

Thanks and read the answer that I wrote to Wayne.

But if the mast has no top light, please tell me  :P

@ Edmay,

Also thanks and for you and Udmilla also a great Christmas and all the best for 2017

@ Mort,

Thanks !

The netting I received it from Hennie, another Dutch builder.

I also received netting from Grant but that's white.

I want to use that first but white is not an option......

And I don't wanna paint it.

Also happy holidays.

@ Mark and Popeye,

Thank you  :D  :D  :D  :D

Hello to all of you.

Everyone wants to see an update and to be honest.....me too !

Today I have make two spars for the front mast and hopefully tomorrow the last one.

I will make pictures of that before I try to find out how I have to attach those things to the masts.......

Anja has almost finished two hammock nettings and when they are ready also pictures will follow.

So please keep on building and when the time is there you will see an update.

I'm now to busy to catching up with all the build logs !

Thanks Sam !

But as you know it your self, sometimes the life is in the way.......

But.....a week later then I was saying but here is an update.

Anja finished 3 of the 6 hammock netting....

Still 3 to go and in the mean time I have make the spar/ yards for the front mast.

And place them !

Pictures of that are following.

Tomorrow I go to the spars/yards for the main mast.

Before any questions are coming.....yep, I place them without ropes or parrel beats or other kind of stuff.

I'am a little sneaky and I know it's not the way but for me it works just fine.

I drill a 1 mm hole in to the mast and spar and glue a brass wire of 1 mm inside.

You don't see a thing of it and I can work on the spars/yards without moving that thing !

Blame me if you want  :P
