Building of Atlantic keeps its course.

I decided a little to distract and try to make something of small and simple. This yacht has no name and I drew the easy drawing.

Here that I managed to make today:

Hi Igor

Another project! What a nice and sleek looking hull. Really nice.

If that's the bottle in the background that you'll be using? If so, then it has it's own charm and should complement the boat really nicely. Good choice!

I can't wait to see your next updates

Cheers

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Project? It sounds too loudly )).

Yes, on a background is the bottle for model, more exact, it is a bottle of perfume of my wife.

Best Regards!

Igor.

Is that an empty perfume bottle?  Looks like a fun build.

Hi Carl and Mark,

I am flattered with your assessment of this model, but it is rather just toy, than model.

I only want to check my some thoughts and to try to execute them.

I think excessive miniaturization has side effects and I was compelled considerably to simplify some details. But I tried to make the boat 3 mm long and now I understand that it is possible and that it else is necessary to change to receive the best result.

Best Regards!

Beautiful job, any longer and you wouldn't have been able to turn it.  Well done.

Hi Bob and Patrick,

Many thanks for compliments!

It isn't absolutely finished yet. I want to try to make the stopper with the rod in a bottle.

I already prepared details, but I am not sure yet that I will manage to place it in a bottle.

Best Regards!

Very nice work Igor!  I like the bottle you are using.  If I did another model, I think I would stand the bottle up like you did.  It makes insertion slightly trickier, but it would be much easier to add sea to the bottle I think.  Great job!

Hi Mike,

Many thanks!

Yes, I thought of the sea in this bottle. But its total volume only 5 ml, i.e. I had opportunity to add only some drops of "sea" from the art acrylic 3D gel painted in blue-green color, but I decided to postpone this question until other time )).

Best Regards!

Igor.

Yes, you are certainly dealing with a small amount of volume!

If you can pull off the sea, I think it would be a really nice touch to the model.  For my Hannah, I tried building up the sea around the pedestal base the best I could.  I wanted to make it look like the ship was sitting in the sea.  It's very tricky to do that though.  If there is a next model, I'm thinking of maybe using a plug to ensure the outline of the sea around the ship.  I'm not sure how I would do that using the Vallejo water though.  I think if I pushed the plug in, and then tried to pull it out, the material would stick to the plug and pull into the space.  I probably also couldn't bake the material, as then I would never be able to remove the plug.  But the Vallejo water looks beautiful once it has hardened.  Something to think about if I do another ship in bottle.

Hi Mike and Igor

Yep, I agree, too.  Pulling off a nice representation of the sea would add a nice shot of realism to the model.  But, even if this weren't possible, it'd still look really nice in the bottle resting on a stand/cradle.

All the best to you both!

Cheers

Thanks for the picture of the bottle on your hand.  That shows how small it really is.  And a non-removable stopper to boot, fantastic.

Hi all,

Many thanks for likes and words of approval!

Now I continue to build my model of Atlantic, but who can know that will be further... Maybe one more interesting small bottle will fall into hands to me )))

I don't know perhaps to make it even less or not. I think that the main problem not how to make the small boat. It is possible to make the boat for example 10 or 5 mm long, but it will demand absolutely small bottle and absolutely small diameter of a throat of a bottle. And in it I see the main problem.

Best Regards!

Igor.

Great work Igor.  With all the glass on the bottom I think it looks like it's sailing on glass.  The tiny ones are a lot of fun.

Hi Igor

Looked up just your last post ...

... simply keeps me amazedthat something is doable - unbelievable!

Absolut great work, Igor!

Best regards!

Mike

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for the compliment!

It only seems as improbable. But actually to make it was simpler, than I assumed earlier.

Best Regards!

Igor.

P.S. The idea of Colin Archer in a bottle doesn't leave me. ))
