  1. You've done a lovely job on the bow joinery Vic! Bravo! Cheers
  2. Your planking looks splendid so far Ken! Seems like a nice, tight fit from what i can see. Cheers
  3. Beautiful work as always Ed! Love that rail-bending jig. Nice! Cheers
  4. Thanks again Dave! I actually put that on my "sizable" list a while back. But these are things to get after I start my own build. Getting anxious to start. I think Carl is too. Ref. my last "What Have You Received" posts. Cheers
  5. Thanks Dave! I'll probably keep it down to just a couple small sets, then expand on that after my skills improve.
  6. I think having sequence shots would be of interest to a lot of us Dave. Among other skills, carving is one of those things I'd like to learn and become proficient at. Been shopping around for carving tools, and found not only are some sets expensive, but there are many different types used by guys that do a lot of carving. I did find decent sets in the mid-range pricing category though. Cheers
  7. It's amazing the amount of detail you're putting into her Dennis. Like Piet was saying, the other fishing boat models I've seen just look a little bare in comparison. Not to take anything away from them, just the difference between going the extra mile or not. Nice work! Cheers
  8. Glad you were able to save and bring her back to her original glory Pat. Nice!
  9. They did a wonderful job with the planking Matt! It's a good thing you explained who you were right away because "old Salty" looks like he was ready to strike. It's good he came back with you so he can get to work with the boys and loose a couple pounds. He's looking a little a little pudgy. Cheers
  10. That's a neat rope-coil jig Dale! Makes great looking coils. After they're all wound on the nails, do you leave them on over-night to "train" them to hold their shape? Cheers
  11. All my hopes of a good outcome for your Admiral Nenad.
  12. She looks great with all her teeth in place Sjors! Nice job! Cheers
  13. It's funny why the media does that. Pick and choose what they want to convey, without even consulting or including you during the editing process.
  14. I'm sure you'll sort it all out Jay. It's going to be interesting to see the framed section, as opposed to the POB version. Cheers
  15. For all of you guys that have any or all of the Jim Tools, I found the perfect adapter for the vac hook-up for connecting directly to a 2-1/2" hose. It's made by Ridged Tools and costs about $10. You'll find it in the Ridged Vac Accessories section in about any "big-box" store, in my case Home Depot. Its called the Universal Power Tool Adapter. It's made of rubber and easy to cut. I cut the 2 smaller sections off it and the one that's left fits right inside the adapter on any of Jim's machines. I imagine the next biggest size would fit right over the adapter as well, but the one I picked fits like a glove. The part # for it is VT1407.
  16. Turned out real nice Ken! Glad to see your experiment worked flawlessly. Cheers
  17. That's a nice "fleet" you've built up Dave. However---I don't think you're insane.
  18. Now that I looked again with fresh eyes, I can see that's probably what you had in mind. Seems like a good method to me, and the whole assembly should flex enough to follow the slight contours of the deck framing. Nice! Cheers
  19. Hate to hear of mishaps Pat, but hope the glue holds and looks good, so you can move on without a whole lot of extra work. Cheers
  20. She looks absolutely marvelous Michael. Very nicely done! Cheers
  21. Now that looks like your experiment worked out splendidly Ken. The planking turned out great and fits like a glove. Is the deck butted up to the waterway, or is that yet to be installed? I couldn't tell with these eyes, if it's already there. Cheers
