  1. As enthusiastic as we all might seem Jesse, nobody's in a hurry here. Whatever speed you feel good with, will be great until you're feeling better. Take your time and have fun! Cheers
  2. Just been browsing and ran across this build Vince, and wow, you're doing a fantastic job on her. Beautiful work on your planking, and I know I'm a little late for the party, but if you don't mind, I'll be following along with interest. Cheers
  3. She turned out beautiful Dale! You should be very proud. I know I would be. Cheers
  4. She looks sweet with some teeth in her Tom! From what I've been reading in other builds, the size of the blocks, called for in the plans for the carriages was too big, but yours seem to be the right size, scale-wise. What size did you end up going with? Cheers
  5. It's the same case for the Constitution Steve. When modeling any one of a number of period ships, you have to make the decision as to which era you want to depict them in. As they look now or as they looked then.
  6. Looks like it will be a fun build, and a good side project Sjors!
  7. I agree with Piet Dennis. The chain-fall looks great there, and having tools for heavy-lifting, and doing repairs, would be standard equipment on a fishing boat, I would think. Sweeet! Cheers
  8. Whoa-----Hope I ain't too late to pull up a lawn chair. Somebody wanna pass the popcorn? -------- Sjors?
  9. The vents and buoys look great in their permanent place Dennis! Definitely museum quality work! Cheers
  10. Sorry Dennis! Don't know how I missed that. (Insert senior moment here).
  11. What you've done already looks great Dave! Can't wait to see the stern! Cheers
  12. Haven't tried it yet myself either, but in Jim's instruction manual, he mentions it. My trials probably won't begin until late fall or early winter, right after I finally start my build. Getting the "itch" again.
  13. The plans' paint scheme will look great Ken. I was just curious.
  14. Nice job on the hull Ken! She's going to look great all painted. Were you going with the to two-tone green on her? Cheers
  15. Congrats on the power tool additions Tom! With that rope, have you tried hardening the rope over night? I noticed with Jim's ropewalk and others I've found on the web, that they all put weights on, or tension it, over night to help with unwinding. Cheers
  16. She's looking great Dennis! Have you given any thought to what you were going to use to make those antenna whips with? The ones for the ship-to-shore radio? Not that I want to give you even more work to do. Cheers
  17. Looks like all the frame-work that's left is the gun-ports Markku! She looks great! Cheers
  18. The detail is just astounding Dennis! Wow! I've heard of "raising the bar". but here, it's gone clean out of sight! Cheers
  19. That's a lot of parts, but also, a lot of detail Larry, and well worth it. She looks great with almost all her teeth in place. Cheers
  20. I can see by the quality of your work Danny, that you really do love this part of the build. Very nice. Cheers
  21. I don't tend to talk about problems with me or mine much as we all have our crosses to bear, but as Dave already knows, I've been going through about the same thing with my Admiral. Don't know what it is with this last 8 or 9 months, but it seems a bunch of us here, are in the same boat. (no pun intended) All we can do is pray for the best for ourselves and each other, as do I for everybody here.
