Bummer you got cut Mike, but I think every ship being built in this forum has the modeler's DNA embedded in it.

Sorry about the blending problems Ken! That's been an issue with ME for quite a while now in not supplying enough of the copper tape to do a decent job. And I'm not sure if time will blend the 2 shades or not. I do know ME was made aware of it at least 2 years ago, because I talked myself to a Rep there about that issue and a couple others. I think my solution for that problem will be just to get 2 fresh rolls when I get ready, just to be sure of a match.

Hi Chuck! I'm guessing at some point you'll be drawing the line as to how many of these parts for your Cheerful will be made, and available as pre-made parts for her, but I have to ask if there will be "ladder-kits" down the road?

Sorry to hear about the "flair-up" Jesse, but there's no deadline on her. Just concentrate on getting well! Edit: Your cat probably senses you're not feeling good!

Interesting in that I wouldn't have thought Swiss Pear would be so forgiving to bend to that extreme without breaking, even after soaking. Very nice!

I agree with every other adjective that the other guys have been using Glenn. Just ran across this build and found your craftsmanship and attention to detail, just outstanding. If you don't mind, I'll park a barrel up in the bleachers here and keep on admiring your work. Cheers

It's a bummer you had to re-do them Dave, but the framed-in look does seem better.

I know that feeling well Mike. Whenever I start having problems on any project, I just pack it in and walk away for a while, so I start with a fresh perspective!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
