  1. Is that the sculpey you're using to make the wreaths and mold Dave! Looks like it would be 100% easier than trying to carve them out of wood. Probably a dumb question but I've never used it before and feel like a Padawan Learner here.
  2. Not bad for a first try Nenad! She's coming together. Thought you might like a pic of the real her under sail. Cheers
  3. Those are some fine looking sleds Thomas! Cheers
  4. I'm not going to say anything about what they were fighting over.
  5. Definitely not me!! I'm about as computer illiterate as they come.
  6. I remember life with-out computers. It was so much simpler then. Never touched one until about 5 years ago.
  7. I've been studying the different modeling techniques, and standards, some of the other modelers in this forum have been following, and I've come to the conclusion that it's all about what you yourself as a modeler want in the end. From what I've seen in the quality, or standard of excellence, that you've shown in the rest of your build, it would be a shame not to follow that same standard for the rest of it. What you've done with the catharpins, follows shipwright practice, and you'll know they're there and could point them out to any unknowing observers. IMHO, worth the extra effort. Cheers
  8. I like the darker version better as well Boyd. And nice job on the steps! Cheers
  9. I like the laser/bulkhead finder Keith! Your tree-nailing turned out great as well. Nice! Cheers
  10. The gun-ports, planking, and stern are looking great Patrick! Glad to see you're back at it! Cheers
  11. I don't know about inspirational Captain. After the 2nd or 3rd wack, I think it was more adrenalin mixed with intense anger because at that point, I stopped feeling the pain. Wish I was an artist though, so I could paint you a copy of his shocked face.
  12. Sorry to hear about the re-do Dave, but at least you caught it when you did.
  13. I can tell you like I told the responding Cops. He must have luck on his side, because I would have done him like he tried to do to me. Doesn't that famous saying go "Do unto others as they do to you"?
  14. "A picture of that dude's eyes when I took his pipe away from him?"-----Priceless!!!
  15. I've never been hurt at work Matt. My arm was broken as a defense action. Attempted armed robbery with a steel pipe. I say attempted because the guy failed to kill me. He tried to make a canoe out of my head with the pipe, and my arm got in the way. He did manage to hit me 4 more times before I stood back up and tore the pipe out of his hands, then chased him with it for about a block, with my ulna sticking out through the skin. Guess he wasn't having any. One of the hazzards of living in the city. It's easier to rob and kill for what you want, then working for it. Wish I could have gotten a picture of that dude's eyes when I took his pipe away from him.
  16. Sounds like you have a good plan Tom! Can't wait to see the end result. Cheers
  17. That's good news there Captain. I was just remembering when mine was wounded (broke at the elbow and fixed with a titanium plate and 8 pins), with-in 16 days, the doctors removed the cast, told me I could go back to work, but be careful. Apparently, they didn't have a grasp as to my kind of work, and I ended up re-breaking it in the same place. After another surgery, and 3 more months off work, it healed. The doc told me because of my age at the time (42) it would take longer to heal. If he knew that, why did he send me back to work? Doctors----Go figure!!!
  18. Good luck on your installation Dale. Doesn't look easy.
