HMS Pandora 1779 in 3D
WackoWolf replied to ppddry's topic in CAD and 3D Modelling/Drafting Plans with Software
I agree, if you work on it everyday you can do it faster. I have been working a design for about 2 years plus and still not done yet LOL. -
With all the books that you have for help, now people here have your build as a guide for help.

Beautiful as before. I could look at these all day. Like Gil's Victory I am thinking of making a side show with the pictures and sit and watch them. Keep the pictures coming.

Excellent work. I enjoy all the detail you have done. Are you going to build this in wood later? Keep the pictures coming. -
Gil, Please never stop posting. Any chance we could maybe see your other boats, the Cutty Shark and the Constitution? I would be honor if you could post a few pictures of them.

What is your favorite hand tool(s)??
WackoWolf replied to Modeler12's topic in Modeling tools and Workshop Equipment
I would have to say that to me the most important tool and favorite is a ruler to measure. I have them in different scales and also inch and MM. With out the right mesurement it doesn't matter how good of a cut you make of sand or file, it still won't be right. Measure twice and then check and measure again. How many have scrap because of a wrong measurement. But this is just my 2 cents before the penny is no more. -

INMO the door looks nice, and the nail holes are also looking right, I would go with that, but you are the Boss. -

The Planking Inside
WackoWolf replied to Thom's topic in Building, Framing, Planking and plating a ships hull and deck
I am also waiting to hear what the right answer will be. Very Good question. -
Walter, Sorry to hear about what happen. A good amount of stuff when you install them will try and get you to have other stuff install, which is a problem all in it's own. I always say no to everything but what I am installing. I have also run into the same problem as you, but was able to get by it and uninstall the program. I have another drive that I have clone this drive to, and once a month I redo the clone in case I can't do a restore back to another date. It has save me more than once, I am a retire IT enginere and hate to work on my own computer so that is why I cover my butt as much as I can.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
