Looking good Mike. My guess would be it's tied off at the eyelet. I don't see any other ropes tied to the spar in the diagram. (edit) I just had a look at the picture on the box and it looks like they are tied off there also.

I checked out that build and it is beautiful the guy does some incredible work. I am looking up those books but am not sure if they are in English B.E.: Thanks for stopping B.E., it's really appreciated. That would be my guess about the rope at the bottom of the mast, I also thought it was a different approach that looks good.

Nice start. Even if you don't want to remove some of the bulkheads the very least you should do is to brush some glue on where the bulkheads meet the keel

Hey Eddie, she is looking good. That sucks about the wood shortage but you have lots to keep yourself busy with. Mixing alcohol with ship modelling is something I keep trying but always come up with poor results. If I was to have kept a bin for mistakes and one for drunken mistakes......well I need not say which one would be full. I am not one to give up easy so I will keep experimenting and will keep you updated if I have any breakthroughs.

Hey Eddie, how are you doing(Canadian translation) Welcome to the elite band of MarisStella builders, you are in for a good time with this build. Good to hear this isn't your first build as this kit is further advanced than a beginners. The contents look real good in this kit, as do all their kits, you will enjoy the dowel system they use for the bulkheads as it squares things up and gives so much strength to the model. If I was to give one piece of advice for your build it would be to study and understand the plans. MarisStella plans are so detailed, accurate and full of information they really are all that you need to complete your build. If you have the room it is best if you can have them side by side(2 in your case) it is then you can really see the relation of things to each other, this is something I learned much too late on my Trabaccolo build. In the meantime I will be happy to follow along. There is lots of help here but do not forget about Zoran at MarisStella he is so knowledgeable about his kits and is always there to help you out.

It's a shame these sort of things happen in a kit but you have done a great job of overcoming a somewhat unattainable obstacle. I'm thinking you have had your share of problems for this build so the rest is going to be a smooth ride .

I forgot to mention that with the top mast on she stands about 720 mm high

Thanks to everyone for stooping in, for your likes and of course all the great comments even You(Mike Shanks). Today is going to be a beautiful day outside so this is just going to be a quick update before I head out side to work up a thirst. Actually it is so nice I'm thirsty already!! So lets get this going First up is just another way of stropping/seizing a block with a becket, here I am using the Domanoff serving machine. As this was just for demonstration purposes I will make another one with a 7mm triple that I can actually use This is the mizzen mast with various rigging, not yet permanently attached This the fore mast One of the trestle trees, notice how my nails turned brown in the blackening solution. Only me and my crazy luck I apologise for the poor picture but I was just trying to show my plumb bob for truing the masts and the proper use of a can of mushrooms, magnet and square Here are some outside shots showing the masts stepped. Top mast is not on permanent. Checkout the rope at the bottom of the mast, I'm not sure if this is something exclusive to the Trabaccolo but it is kind of cool. I should have taken pictures of this process but it is three separate coils of 1.25 mm rope followed by two more on top of that then one more at the very top As you can see it is beautiful day here so I am going for a shower then grabbing a cool one getting on the golf cart with some tunes and get to work watching the leaves grow. Fridge is full so come on over, supposed to be 28 today that spells cold beer in Celsius or Fahrenheit You all have a great day and an awesome weekend See You Later

I just got this machine a couple of weeks ago and will say it is a real pleasure to use. Extremely smooth running and easy to use and with the attachments that are included more than just serving can be accomplished. With the quality of this machine coupled with Alexey"s customer service you just can't go wrong. Job well done Alexey
