When I painted my Pelican/Golden Hind I found these possibilities.
The number behind the examples indicates which way was most common.
No painting (the word "niets" behind the examples) was actually the most common way. But, that's not much use to us model builders, not?? 😉- Rock_From_Korea, mtaylor, robert952 and 1 other

It's been a while since I built a military model.
So, here we go. This time it is an Italian Autoprotetto S37General info
https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/italy/Fiat_SPA_Autoprotetto_S-37.php
Box and contents http://acemodel.com.ua/en/model/411Start
There's a lot of flash to the parts. This model is from a short run production, the mold was probably in service for a while when my model was cast
the parts for the superstructure
after much cleaning, sanding and fitting
Engine compartiment (same problem)
The worst part is over 😉

The last ropes from the main sail are attached
on some drawings this line goes up to the bowsprit (arrow). So this became improvising (there was no more room left in this place) ...
I think the rigging is done
someone is happy 😉
The following months will be spent making swivel cannons, anchors and flags

The mizzen sail rigging is completed
I took this image as an example. The "where and how" all these ropes are attached on deck is purely on "feeling and good luck" 😇
General overview
Outrigger with rigging
Martnets and outrigger
Tack
Lift with crow's feet
Had an idea to put some attributes on the deck.
Nothing is glued yet, and it doesn't look like a good idea...Thanks for following comments and likes

It has always annoyed me that Heller made these hawser pieces separate from the hull halves. If you glue them-in, as is, you are left with a step on the outside of the hull, where the aft edge of the insert joins the hull. I decided to create a half-lap joint on this aft edge and a tapering lap on the top and bottom edges of the hull opening, in order to eliminate this step. It was very fiddly, but it enabled me to scribe the “hunting” port on the lower battery.
A long time ago I learned to make molds at school.
Our first, and only, mold that we had to make was of course much simpler 😉.
I don't think it was technically possible, in that time, to provide these holes directly and at the right angle without the extra hawser pieces.

It is indeed an unusual method.
But on the model in Berlin museum it is also this wayhttp://www.wasadream.com/Index/indexenglish.html

I started riging the mizzen sail. The rest of the main sail rigging will be done after this.
Preparations.
Shaping of the sail is done on the mast itself(With an alert cat on the background...)
This weekend the display case was adjusted. This case was designed a long time ago for military models only, not a wide sailing ship.
The mizzen sail is attached.
For now, the rigging of the mizzen is a mess. I have more ropes than attachment points
