    I have finished the head timbers.  


    I have a head rail made and installed.  I have the opposite one made, but not installed.

     

    The head rail that is installed is actually my second attempt.  The first attempt is the splintered piece of wood in the second picture.  The second attempt is 1.6mm card.

  2. I’ve been putting off working on the head because I didn’t want to build it incorrectly.  


    I’m working at slightly beyond the max of my skill level.  
     

    However, I learn by doing and the Victory has a twisted hull anyway, which can’t be fixed, so I’m not too worried if I make a mistake during the rest of construction so long as I learn from it.  I’m using the rest of this build as a learning tool.


    I’m learning a lot which I will carry forward to my next builds (like making sure that your bulkheads are square and that your keel piece isn’t warped).

     

    The port head timbers are in place.  There will be some adjustments to them (Including putty) during construction of the head rails, but they are in place.
