Absolutely! Welcome aboard!
I’ll start making sawdust as soon as I finish the Victory.
I’m about halfway done with the Victory now.

I like the cheap glue sticks. I get a four pack at the Dollar Tree. They work great for glueing plans to wood.

Model Shipways is a good starting point. They will replace any part for any reason, your fault or theirs.
The Model Shipways Sultana was my first real ship model. I really enjoyed building it.
I’ve heard really good things about Bluejacket too, but I’ve never built any of their kits.
The gentleman who runs it, his username is Mr. Bluejacket (real name Nic), is on this forum.

I did mine the same as the carriages with black around the outside of the wheel to simulate the iron banding.

Well done. This is a great kit to start with.

Cardstock makes excellent templates. Once you find what fits, trace it on the wood. Then just flip it over and trace the other side.
Unfortunately, sometimes it comes down to trial and error.

That is a nice way and I feel the right way to look at it Phil. Lesser mortals would have given up by now
I’ve been told before that I taught the mule how to be stubborn, lol.

This model has lots of issues.
I started it before I had the skills and knowledge to build it right. That’s how I learn though.
It has more flaws and more problems than I can count (including a twisted hull).
Some originate from the age of the kit (1991). Most originate from my mistakes and inexperience.
I had only built two real ship models prior to starting this one. I built the Model Shipways Sultana and the Mamoli Endeavour.
I had built a few small boats before, but nothing approaching the complexity of this one.
I have a Lessons Learned file the length of my arm from this one that I will carry forward to the Triton, which will be my next build.
The point of the remainder of this build is for me to get better and is being used as a learning project.
I’m having a lot of fun experimenting with it.
