I'm in! Nearly missed this one -
Looks good! As Mark has mentioned Old Collingwood has a build log of a kit bash Black Pearl, a lot of his photos show the details. You would also get plenty of advice and helpful suggestions if you opened a build log of your Black Pearl.

Nice subject, makes a change for someone to paint the smaller working ships instead of the famous and well known. I especially like this one as my dad served on a bar boat. As always great painting.

So as a break from cutting wheels out for my card Sherman I've come back to the shipyard and done a few strakes on Triton I only have three and a half more to do and then its sanding and mark the waterline. Looking like a busy productive shipyard 😏 note my adjustable height table (admiral's ironing board 😆) I don't know why I never thought to use it before! Thanks for dropping in and hitting the like button 👍 Cheers

Looks great Lou, nice work😁 -
Jumbo turned out to be a grand little ship, I think you did a great job with what you had to start with😁. Looks like Denis will do the same with Clothilde😊 It's been fun watching!

I agree very nice work. I like the surgical tape seat belt solution -
Thanks for dropping by everyone, this was supposed to be another kit build but lockdown has held up delivery so I found these card models online, so depending on how much longer I'm unable to go to work I've got enough of these to keep me going. So after a quick start I've slowed up making the wheels and suspension for the tracks. To be honest I'm finding it slightly difficult to cut holes neatly, but I get there. I've got 16 more wheels to make then I'll move on to the tracks. cheers 😊👍

To stop myself going stir crazy I've downloaded some free card model templates from Paper-replika.com. Watching Jack do his magic with the armour kits he has, I thought I would have a go at this Sherman got the main body done and now it's on to the tracks and turret As I said these are free, just need ink and some 220gsm card. Cheers

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
