Hi Clare, thanks for your explanation. Hmm, perhaps it's a goed idea to use colors which work with different dilutions. I have some Airbrush colors which work with alcohol and some oilcolors, I can try. WIth the actual crisis I have enough time at home to test.

Hi Clare, I will follow your log with great interest. I have both cogs of shipyard in my stash and will start this weekend with the cog "Wütender Hund" ("Mad dog"). YOur log will be a fantastic help. Can you give little bit more information about painting the model. The hints in the description of shipyard are not really informative Regards Christian

It looks fantastic Tom and is a nice add on to the Alert of trident model -
Hi Kris, here a link to a beautyful model of the Oseberg ship on the webpage of Arbeitskreis historischer Schiffbau. I think it is a lot easier to draw your model in scale 1:1 and make only the prints in the scale you will build your model. In 1/32 a lot of details will be very fragible. I think 1/25 or 1/20 are much easier to build. Most measurments you will find in books from good old Europe give metric measurements.

I've missed your updates on your beautyful build. It's good to see that you will continue.

Welcome to MSW, Tom. I hope you will show your development of your Fly and Coureur also here on MSW. Thanks to Chuck and the whole team behind the scene for solving the copyricght-issues. @cafmodel do you have some issues with your website? If I click n the pictures I can reach some models but not by your menu. What is the current standing of your Bellona kit. I couldn't see any information about. -
Wow, that is the appearance I like to create also for my HMS Triton. It's a fantastic result

Hi all, I know, that you have prepared some kits, but I like to ask, if it is possible to make the drawings and description available for members out of the US (for me Germany) . I like to give this small project a try but with shipping costs and tax it will become to expansive for me for a training project

Can you make some pictures of the colored stand by daylight? What I see looks really nice. I know, that the wrong place for a discussion, but is the basis -the old Heller kit- a good base for all the work and research you invest? Isn't it easier, if you like to work with Styrene, to do it from scratch with Evergreen-Profiles? I got this question every time I look in your buildlog in my mind.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
