  1. Hi all, I know, that you have prepared some kits, but I like to ask, if it is possible to make the drawings and description available for members out of the US (for me Germany) . I like to give this small project a try but with shipping costs and tax it will become to expansive for me for a training project
  2. One possibilty is a stretching of the paper if you glue it on the timber. In my opinion it's not a problem to send over the line. Let enough wood at the side of the frame that you can check the shape later.
  3. This are good news. I like to watch your progress. I hope that I can start et the end of the year with my version of tis beautiful little frigate.
  4. Can you make some pictures of the colored stand by daylight? What I see looks really nice. I know, that the wrong place for a discussion, but is the basis -the old Heller kit- a good base for all the work and research you invest? Isn't it easier, if you like to work with Styrene, to do it from scratch with Evergreen-Profiles? I got this question every time I look in your buildlog in my mind.
  5. Really nice start. You choose the same method I like to us for my own build. How did you made the notches? With the table saw?
  6. Hi all, first of all I like to thank Chuck and all the other guys in the background which make the group build possible. I will participate and build this nice 5ft rate frigate, because the reconstruction of my HMS Triton will need much more time and I have lerned in the last years that it don't make sense to build her or any other ship as POF model before I am retired. So I think it is a good possibility to take the challenge of building HMS Winchelsea and improve my skills. In the moment I like to build her fully rigged and colored as the original model. As wood I will use pear, boxwood and other European woods. For job reasons I live partially in the Netherlands, but I will build her at home in Germany. So I am not the fastest builder of the group.
  7. I can second Marks words. The Triton section makes also a really nice model.
  8. Your planking looks absolut fantastic. I like the color of the cedar. I think it will give a really nice contrast with pear of swiss pear.
  9. Interesting project. I will follow you with interest. Perhaps Fusion 360 is a simpler way for checking my reconstruction. Do you know, if it is possible to load a DWG file as startup point?
