Do You enjoy Rigging your ship?
Captain Poison replied to bear's topic in Masting, rigging and sails
Rigging is the second part that I enjoy (the first is the construction of the hull) is interesting and also a source of learning... that allows me to improve future work. -

Captain Poison replied to bigcreekdad's topic in Masting, rigging and sails
The version of Cabrapente seems to me more realistic and enhances the work in general... also I would like to see the finished version of Blue Ensign. -

I don't remember very well, but I think that method was made by Cabrapente.. -

Simulated caulking
Captain Poison replied to Nirvana's topic in Painting, finishing and weathering products and techniques
I use ashes of cigarette mixed with water and white glue. -
In my opinion you should keep it since it is a discontinued kit and that makes it valuable... If this would be your first kit maybe you should start with other for beginners and thus learn the basics. Then you could start with this and do a better job because you do have the necessary knowledge. I repeat that it is my opinion and at the end you are the captain of your ship, so if you think necessary to start with this and no other, here you will find all the support and tips of people with extensive experience.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
