  1. Ben, the telegraph on the docking bridge would be a docking telegraph; common on large ships prior to efficient radio and used to transmit orders and reports re making fast and letting go mooring lines. John
  2. You're making rapid progress, Popeye. I hate to nit pick, but the section of anchor cable on deck was usually painted either black or white - no idea which on Titanic, though. John
  3. Thanks for those, Mark. Very interesting sketches, especially the second one showing a lugger at sea. These are, of course, considerably later than the Pritt, but the form of the TI luggers changed very little over the years. If you go back to page 1 of my log, you'll see that I have several photos of the Pritt, including one of her on a slip having her copper replaced. I also have a lines plan of the Grafton, built in the following year by the same builder, so that was also helpful. John
  4. Thanks for the encouragement, one and all. I can't wait to see the deck finished and cleaned up, but it'll look worse before it gets batter once I start gluing in treenails! John
  5. The deck planking continues to plod ahead. Just a few more to go now, so I should get them fitted on my next visit to the museum - then comes the rest of the treenailing and the cleaning up. John
  6. You can see the beautiful shape of this little yacht even on the frames! John
  7. That will make a very nice model, Pete - a lovely little open cockpit day sailer. John
  8. Good progress so far, Cathead. I think it will loose a lot if you leave it as an open hull model. Why not get the hull fully framed and then have another think about it? John
  9. Only a mechanic would turn naturally to brake fluid for use in model making, Popeye! John
  10. She's already well under way, Popeye! Can I ask why you're painting the wooden decks tan? John
