  1. amazing the amount of PE that went into these two structures so far. looks great so far Greg really nice the way you boxed off that bridge part. judging from all the PE scattered around........your amassing quite a stock pile. super job so far!
  2. reading your post Jacek.............your kidding.....right?!?!?! he can't change this?........even if it's wrong? *******mental note: if I ever buy this kit.........make this change in the assembly *********
  3. this is a detail that is prevalent on most, if not all sailing vessels. it's too bad that DeAgostini got this wrong. it will take some doing to remove the offending planking......wetting it down with alcohol or water may help. looking in other logs here on the site, I'm sure you can see where the seams for the keel parts are, and can be indented and drawn on with pencil. it's not a hard repair, but it can get tricky. one shouldn't feel to badly about this.......positively sure your not the forst who has been duped by incorrect plans she's a beautiful hull.......you've done well thus far
  4. from what I see here, they likely would. if kept 1:1 with the plans, I wonder what scale it would be in. I'm not sure what the copyright stamp says...I wonder if it was wise to post pictures........but I feel that a moot point, thinking "now what are folks gonna do with just pictures?" I'm sure they could be blown up to 1:96 scale. most of the kits I've gotten in the past has the parts panel diagrams included.......I've often wondered if a model could be done using them {not even blown up}. I haven't looked into BlueJacket....is the kit still being offered? how much are the plans, as opposed to buying the complete kit? too bad this log fizzled out I built the Revell kit some years ago.........a very nice model
  5. take care of family first Nenad.........there will be plenty of time later for her majesty. enjoy
  6. so sorry to hear of her passing John {I just told Phyl about it}.......she sends her hugs to Pam, and extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I hope your fairing well with what's going on with you..........fingers crossed and thinking of you
  7. ....even better with the added green she's look'in very nice! in the short time you visited with her, you've done a lot. the beginnings of the bow spirit is off to a good start. when you come back......be sure to pack plenty of other colors, so you can dress up the bow and stern it was fun watching you add more to her. ......BTW.......how is the Akagi coming along? I don't believe I've seen an update on her.
  8. I'm impressed..........with that much damage, I had doubts. you did very well! glad that the project is moving forward....looks really neat!
  9. hey there Gerhard.........so good to see your back! sorry to hear what's been going on with you two.........good to hear that your weather through it all. belated condolences to you and your family, and look forward in seeing you back at the table soon.
  10. she's look'in great in her new paint every little bit brings her closer to rigging time!
  11. super job on the vent and the funnels.......they look great rigged back in place. you might not want to run too many overhead wires though....remember, your still tinkering in there wonderful progress!
  12. wow! ...some really great progress there Frank the bow spirit and hardware is very well done. wish I had an idea for ya on the trail boards.......way too intricate for decals and such. you could look into photo etch though...I'm sure there is lettering and frieze designs out there. nice work on the boom and hoops, they look great as well!
  13. nice progress on the G.R...........and on the fort glad to see your back at the table.
  14. ship's wheel and companionway look really sweet Pat. I have the same problem with my decal maker......it basically boils down to a transparency issue. using clear decal paper makes it worse, since there is no 'backing' to base the decal. most decals use a background to build up the decal image, stacking the colors up in layers. ink jet printers cannot print white, which is a crucial back ground color. in spectrum, it would be easier to use the decal over a lighter color, than a darker color....the DPI is so low, the darker color absorbs it, and it disappears. darker color {foreground} decals are more successful, but one still needs the lighter background color for it to really stand out. the best decals I made to date with this decal program I have, has to be the Andrea Gail........I used white decal paper, and changed the foreground color to match the hull color -->Emerald Green over white. decal making is a constant experiment. PE can be found.....it will be a search though to find the pieces you will need........1:350 would be your best bet. Wefalck has a good idea....I've used paint pens before. I'm sure you could figure a way to steady your hand as you do the markings.
  15. looks like a sweet project..........nice start on the hull I'll sit next to the seat pincher and join in on the fun!
