  1. I should do something about starting a 'real' library.....thanks for the suggestion Andy, I'll look into it
  2. my other dog used to love them......thankfully Gibbs doesn't.......the smell is terrible pictures....did I hear pictures! more eye candy, please!
  3. ohhhhh! I am in envy! you have shrouds and futtocks! looking great, my friend!
  4. choose carefully.......remember the gray area.........just sit back and smile quietly to yourself..........LOL!
  5. you've come this far Larry............comm'on....put your toe in this water........Hee....Hee....!
  6. I have been thinking about a trip to the local book store Andy. the one thing I do notice about them, is depending on what you read, one tends to come away with a different take on just what is considered correct. I have so many pictures of this ship........the only delimma I'm facing at the moment, is how the lines start, and how they terminate. I wish I had some of the other sized blocks, incorporated in this build........some 2mm blocks would be nice for the yards.......but now I'm treading on the path of 'super detail' thanks for the suggestion..........I'll look into it {hopefully before I get too deep in the rigging} Eric........know it or not.......your going to be a barometer for me. you've been on the ship.....you know the ship, and how many folks can say they are working on a ship that is still in operation today........I'm very lucky in that respect. I was looking through my inventory, and I saw that I have a bunch of 7mm double blocks as well as the 7.5mm triple blocks. I think the double blocks would look better for the fore and main yards...than the triple blocks........although the triples would make for a nice pulley set up under the tops. I'm getting ahead of myself..........get the bow fitted, then get the masts in place, so I can start on the standing rigging.....that is the goal right now. it's so good to be back on this build thanks Sjors........this is just the beginning thanks Augie........I sure am
  7. I have a dremel.......but other than sanding, I have done little with it {the noise drives the dog nutzs}. I do have a special x-actor knife with blade attachments that look like saw blades. there are many approaches for doing this.....if yours works well for you, then by all means...perfect your art looking forward in seeing the finished adjustment.....I swear, I have a bad case of fat fingers tonight {perhaps I need another beer}
  8. I don't even need to see them........I know what they are. there are dog treats called 'bully sticks' .......do you know what they are?
  9. .....I had to look at it again.....{giggle!}.....oh blimey!.....I'm tickled pink! {thank god it's not pastel!} Sjors wasn't happy with the transom face he made another to take it's place the picture shows he did not fail now to make the balcony rail
  10. thank you Sjors......I am pleased it looks great, my friend! even unfinished, it's a picture worth waiting for
  11. glad to see progress on your build Caroline very nice work! I hope this is a prelude to more in the future
  12. correct good sir!......aye! that's where I am now......working on her as we speak........thanks Ron
  13. what I have on my desk top is this.... here's what I'm going to try and get it to look like......I'm not going to be able to do all the lines, but it's kind of a goal. I did a bit of rigging earlier in the build.....per the plans, and I din't like it this is not tied to an eye bolt.....they start from holes drilled into the stem......so I did. this hurt me a lot more than the model........if I botch this up, I'll have a very nasty bow. the bottom pair of bobstays {I think that's what they are called} are in place ......there are two more on the sides
  14. I thought of a poem for that Daniel......but I won't post it......don't want to be accused of being a cross-dresser.......LOL! I've heard of the oysters as well.......I'm good with that........thanks anyway
  15. thanks Aldo, it was a fun build. if I ever do another one.......I'd like it to be a larger one!
  16. looking good Sjors Errrrr........that door jam thingie.........are we still measuring ourselves....are we?
  17. thanks Bob........now I gotta get them painted. I'm working on the bow at the moment......even took a good picture of the bow and turned it into my desk top picture.....can't help but study it now........Hee....Hee.....Hee
  18. very nice work Daniel......super detail!
  19. yepper! that's how it starts.........first you do some small thing ........and then it blossoms from there very nice work dressing out the cabin. did you take study from Doris?
  20. thanks Daniel, Mobbsie and Adam.........I appreciate your kind words I guess this would be as good a time as any to post yesterday's progress. not too much progress today though.......errand day. with my son working now, I have to accompany the admiral on the ones that require lifting. even with her disability, she still enjoys getting out and about......I'm not about to stop her from doing so. here are just some random pictures of the crosstree dead eyes. I did find out that there is no crosstree on the mizzen mast. I did manage to get all six dead eyes on the main top. now to bend all the wires into eyelets, and paint
