  1. Ok. Use the resources here on MSW. Do as search (or more) for the model in the kit area. There's a search icon upper right side of any page. Meantime, I hope someone can help.
  2. Ok. We'll hope someone can help.
  3. Have you checked their website? Here's one of them: https://www.mantuamodel.co.uk/products
  4. Charles, if you're interested there's a carving sub-forum here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/84-build-logs-for-the-carving-group-project/ Might be worth a look.
  5. I'm in to watch this also, Michael. Looks like a great project.
  6. Welcome to MSW, Mike from a former Buckeye.
  7. Welcome to MSW, Patick. And feel free to start a build log.
  8. Nicolas, many of us have done the Triton keep an eye on the logs. Maybe not everyday though. If it's something not specific to the Triton such as glue, woods, etc. as them in the appropriate place on the other sub-forums. I'll say this as I've said it before... there's no such thing as a dumb question. If you have questions, you need answers.
  9. They were a test. That topic has been deleted. As for your second suggestion, give us some time we're working on it.
  10. What Ken said seems to work very well. Give them about 20 minutes or so in the vinegar. It not only cleans but adds a bit of "tooth" to the brass. Rinse well after pickling and let dry. If you don't rinse, the acid will continue to work.
  11. It very much is a liberating day/moment. I've used the local beauty supply store for those sanding sticks they use for nails and for finger nail polish for bolts on and nuts on mechanical devices.
  12. Count me in also. Looks to be interesting.
  13. Welcome to MSW. To add to what Chris said, there's a cautionary tale pinned to the top of this section that might help you out.
  14. Welcome to MSW, Rick. I have seen a few live steam models in the Scratch area but I'm not sure how many there were or even if they were finished.
  15. I wasn't going to bring that up. Now about the flute players, drummers and dancing girls.... when do they show up?
  16. Bingo! The steel over black. Has better 'used' look than the other.
  17. Hi Tim. Welcome to MSW. I suggest you do start a build log as it's the best way to meet people and get some help when you need it.
  18. It's hard to believe this is 1:96 scale with all the detail. Lovely work, Giampiero
  19. Thanks Jaager. You raise a good point about Cook and boxwood and what do they do with the non-figured wood. I'm watching the weather and the lockdown stuff. I plan on calling them this week to check hours.
  20. We are our own worse critics, Mark. What's been done so far looks good and since we don't know where to look, we see no flaws.
  21. Denis, I hope all goes well in the medical area for you. The bomber looks great.
  22. I forgot about the one at Carillion Park. When I lived there, it was great place to visit and then the carillion concerts on weekends. They do have quite a bit of history tucked into that park.
  23. Jaager, It's not my intention to use boxwood for framing but for stock used for decking and assorted bits and pieces. For framing, I'm a fan of cherry. Madrone is a wonderful wood if you can get it. Most of it ends up in fireplaces as it's really a tricky wood to cure out. If not done right and slowly, it splits. As I understand it, Mardrone is a hard hardwood. Actually, from my point of view... it's a nice drive across the mountains so no loss if they don't have what I want. I might stop in and see some old co-workers while I'm over there. If they have some nice wood... that's a plus. As Richard said, they mostly sell to the decorative and guitar makers.
