  1. If it was an admiral's ship, wouldn't it have an "admiral" flag?
  2. I think it's time to spend money and order that book. It looks to be an excellent resource.
  3. Please. Just don't do it. Maybe someday but for now don't as it causes issues with those looking for ships. I am and will be removing tags from non-ship models effective immediately.
  4. Welcome to MSW, Uwe. When you're ready do start a log s it's a great way to get help and also give help to someone else.
  5. Well.. no matter then. The magic bus will work. Here I was thinking how I'd fit everyone in my car as the back seats came out and went away a long time ago. In case you wonder.. it's a PT Cruiser and no one older than 10 could have ever fit in them. So it became my hauling machine.
  6. Bill, Have look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Spanish_flags I briefly looked that the page and it appears all the Spanish flags are there and there's a lot of them.
  7. My fingers are crossed on this.
  8. Vladimir, That is one impressive model. Seeing it outside really tells how big it is. The details you're adding are incredible.
  9. Ab, Could you copy that post here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/16-masting-rigging-and-sails/ We get asked all the time about sail material and your source is of value.
  10. Mantura is one of the old line companies. For a kit they look pretty good, for accuracy... not so much. Back than, most of the companies just tossed parts into the box that were "close'. I would probably be better to replace the shot than barrels. But it's your choice.
  11. I had to double check which build I was in. That dash panel resembles something out of a fighter cockpit.
  12. If the wind is/was blowing differently, wouldn't the other side need sheaves installed even if they weren't in use? Just curious as I've never sailed.
  13. The mast would fit into the mast partner that rested on the beams. Here's a picture. Note that four holes around the large hole are for the pumps. After the mast was installed on the real ship, wedges would have been driven in to anchor it and set the mast angle. See photo. On your model, there usually some cutouts on the backbone. With the false deck, the hole is generally the right size for the mast. The instructions should show this.
  14. Welcome to MSW, Tony. I merged your two topics you posted on the this so all the answers in one.
  15. Lemmy, If you want to make things easy on yourself when replying to bunch of posts in a topic such as this, use the little "+" next to "Quote". It will let you quote lots of posts in the topic and then when you're ready to reply hit the black box in that showed up in the lower right hand corner. It will leave space between the quote so you can respond to each one. Note that this doesn't work "across topics" but only in the one you're in.
  16. Egilman, There have been blackouts and slowdowns country wide with the lockdown. And some places are still seeing them. Part of this issue with slowdowns is folks binge watching movies online. I've run into that off and on down here where I am. Running some tools like tracert, the dead times aren't in any one location. The Internet routes as best it can and sometimes it's not most direct. I do hope that once most places come out of lockdown, things will get better.
  17. Good question about Chrome. I don't think so. I switch over to Chrome sometime ago but I do keep the latest MS Edge and Firefox and I"m not seeing this either.
  18. True... though actually I do use them.. as trashcan liner. 'So that's where Lou went? I was looking for him down by the spirits locker.
  19. Hold off the catwalks as long a possible. The guns need to be set into place and appropriate rigging for them.
  20. No rush, Yves. I think model ship builders are a pretty patient lot by nature.
  21. I'd consider using a very small round file. Rotate instead of "in and out".
