Welcome to MSW, Stu.

Welcome to MSW, Bill. I do suggest you open a build log as it's a great way to get help and meet others.

3d printing crew figures
mtaylor replied to highlanderburial's topic in 3D-Printing and Laser-Cutting.
Your figures came out very well. Use of a 3D printer shouldn't get you any flack. I used the search feature at the top of page (make sure to change the setting to "this forum" and used "figures". Quite a few hits actually and I'm pretty sure there's more in other sub-forums. -
Welcome to MSW, Georgios.

I too would like to see your next builds. Sorry but I missed the last line about them. -
Nice rework, Phil. From the earlier photos I thought you were going to have a bear of a time but everything came together.

M-50 Israeli Sherman - FINISHED - MP Models - 1:35 Scale
mtaylor replied to CDW's topic in Non-ship/categorised builds
I used to see those types a lot when I running (driving) across the pass to work everyday. I figured either they were rubber-necking or just too scared to go much faster. 50 MPH speed limit except for the hairpin turns. I usually ran it (when I could) at 60, though I did get pulled over one time for going a bit faster than that. -
Thanks for the tutorial, Marc. I've read several tutorials by others, but yours seems to be clearer in the steps and methods.

That's some good news about your mom, Mark. Too many of those homes seemed to let it get out of control too fast. -

We have a local mom & pop hobby shop that's stayed open. They have a few wooden ship kits, lots of plastic kits, railroad and RC plus paints, tools, etc. Reduced hours, limited amount of folks allowed inside. The other one is Hobby Lobby which I won't set foot in and it's been closed for the virus. I think it still is. -

Yeah... I thought of that after I signed off. Brain fart. -
Hi Brian, Welcome to MSW. I spent 20 years in the St. Louis area. Enjoyed it. I hope you'll start a build log.

New Young Model Builder from Minnesota LOOKING FOR ADVICE
mtaylor replied to Kenna's topic in New member Introductions
That is a wonderful workshop, Kenna. As a suggestion/alternate point of vew, for rigging, no CA as it becomes very brittle. If you decide to put her in water, you should use shellac. If not going into water than either the shellac or a 50/50 mix of white glue and water. -

I think you meant "not" a tail dragger, Denis, since it has a nose wheel.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
