  1. I've read accounts where at times the lines were very long. Those at the back of the line, if they couldn't wait any longer would go out in the channels, drop the pants to half-mast and let fly.. so to speak. Pissdales would also have lines at times. Other times, no lines, no waiting. There's an excellent thesis here on the topic: http://nautarch.tamu.edu/Theses/pdf-files/Simmons-MA1985.pdf
  2. Now why would the horses in the first picture be saddled? It's not like anyone's going ride one across the lake... I think...
  3. You're worming and serving???? I think this is first time I've seen the lines being wormed. At least it's only two sets of those lids, Palladio. And the lids do look great. Admirals do have a way with us, don't they?
  4. That's a good question Joe, You might have a go and ask here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/12827-model-expo-has-got-wind-in-its-sails/#entry390098 I'm thinking it is the same....
  5. Michael, I concur with with everyone else. Add my vote to the "what does he mean 'not good'?" crowd.
  6. I never considered doing that to the Accuriser fence. That is a great idea.
  7. Your work continues to amaze and inspire me, Giampiero.
  8. Dave, I'm in total agreement with you. Seems an awful lot of things in this hobby are "reconstructions". I think you're doing great.
  9. Congrats Piet. That's even better news than that about the carving.
  10. Amazing Patrick. Just amazing. I don't think your crazy... or at least any crazier than the rest of us.
  11. Wonderful work, Marsalv. The stern window decorations just inspired me to give something like that a try for my ship's taffrail.
  12. I visualize a large circle on the deck.. and helicopter landing... I'm also nuts.
  13. Gaetan, There's a pinned topic in Shore Leave for photography. I think there's more topics in that forum. Those have been very helpful to me.
  14. Ray, Are there plans in your book? You should be able to scale from them. As for parts.. check Chuck's company, http://www.syrenshipmodelcompany.com/ for metal parts at 1:100 check Dafi's photo etch at: http://dafinismus.de/index_en.html
  15. Lovely work, Sjors. Watch out for the mice and the snakes. On the good side, there aren't any dragons.
  16. It's good to see you back at the modeling desk, John. I hope the health issues are not serious. She's such a clean ship and looking better every time you post.
  17. It's always a treat to see your progress and methods, Gaetan.
  18. Noah, She looks great on the board. The board looks darn good. On the Caird... did you contact the James Caird Society? There also this: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/10212-the-alexandra-shackleton-at-the-anmm/
