Byrnes saw belt source in UK/EU?
mtaylor replied to bruce d's topic in Modeling tools and Workshop Equipment
Just curious, doesn't Jim sell the belts? -
That's one of my concerns. I'm assuming this can installed on a computer instead of smartphone (I would hope). So can the books be printed out on home printer? I'm concerned about the "backup" and access to the data as since the dark ages of the web I've seen too many companies that did thing like photo "storage" disappeared without warning and everyone who had data/photos there was up creek.

Do a search here one MSW for copper patina. More than few have done it, I'd suggest starting the Painting and Finishing area. We do have a search feature here... upper right hand corner.

Wonderful work. I think this era and ship type are seldom done yet attractive because they are so "different".

Looks good and that with the flying boat on the box behind makes an interesting statement.

I think yours has the most "wow" power probably the size allowing for detail and all the details being added. Just a thought herer. I give some though to securing the island to the deck and anything else to the hull. Consider if nothing maybe using some pins. I've seen too many RC boats over the years roll over or flood for some reason and sink. I'd hate to read where something happened and things fell off.

Looks like any number of machines that come out of China. They do need some tweeking. Have a look at LittleMachineshop guide on small lathes (attached below). They also have a variety of documents in their learning center. Document - MiniLatheUsersGuide.pdfMiniLatheUsersGuide.pdf Learning center main page for documents: https://www.littlemachineshop.com/Products/product_new.php This is also a good link for info https://www.mini-lathe.com/ -
They also made one that had some radioactive chemicals. I wanted one but my gave me very emphatic "NO". We tried making and succeeding in making nitroglycerin in high school. The stuff worked and still surprised we didn't blow ourselves to smithereens. I still can't believe some of the stuff we got away with back then.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
