  1. You might try sending him a PM as he hasn't been on since the middle of last month.
  2. That is truly a one of kind model it will draw attention. Beautifully done.
  3. I go along with Ken on the kudos. I"m happy she suffered no damage in the "oops".
  4. Welcome to MSW, Phil. Give some though to a build log. It's a good way to meet others here.
  5. Welcome to MSW, Maxx. Follow Chris's advice as to other projects and also start a build log. The log is a great way to get help.
  6. Good that the paramedics were called in, OC. I take that their work helped calm her down? And by all means, get the follow up with the docs.
  7. Sorry to hear about the hand and the sting. Not fun when they sting you. The kitchen is looking good and so are the pears. I've never seen them cover the pear trees here and we have miles and miles of orchards all over the valley. Some places though did use "bird cannon"... fired a charge of natural gas if I remember right and that kept the birds away. Haven't heard one going off in a long time though.
  8. Thanks to both you, Richard and EG. I didn't know the pulleys were curved and so once again, I learn something new here at MSW and it's not always about ships. Seems to be an almost everyday thing.
  9. Mr. McDonnell was a character to say the least and actually acted like a human being around the workers.
  10. Impressive to say the least. BTW, are the pulleys supposed be rounded? The side photos seem to show them being high in the center.
  11. Looks great, Ted. The next builds sound great also. As for finishing this log.... simply goto the first post and click the 3 dots (upper right) then hit "edit". Just add "FINISHED" to the title after your name and before the "Amati". Just make sure the dashes are there to separate things a bit. If there's problems, contact a moderator.
  12. Excellent recovery, Steven. I'm glad you were able to make repairs. You've come to far to walk away from this.
  13. I hope you have quick and good recovery so you can do what you love.
  14. Paul, I suggest you open your own log on your build. You'll meet other builders and also be able to get help as needed.
  15. I pretty much try to get the stuff immediately. Old habit I guess from way back back in my military days to recover debris ASAP from the choppers. Keep that habit when I worked on my drag racer. Learned to get the debris/parts out a quick as possible lest they be forgotten and then destroy the engine.
  16. Obviously "air show" mode with the black tail on the "slot" bird. Good times back in the day at air shows.
  17. To answer your question about deck fittings and sanding... I'd open the deck as needed coamings, etc. but not put them on until after it's sanded.
  18. I'm in. Fascinating concept aircraft. The Germans did get beyond the manufacturing abilities during war.
