  1. Thanks Keith. I haven't totally lost my marbles yet.
  2. Didn't many of the bowsprit stays have a zig-zag pattern to running of what's being called "ratlines"? It would be one line run back and forth from the tip of the bowsprit to the hull. I don't remember it's just on few ships (types and countries) or just done during a timeframe in history.
  3. Some regard "interesting time" as a blessing with hope, but many also see it as curse. Let's hope it's the former and not the latter.
  4. Argggghhh!!!!!!! A ship hitting the floor is never good news. I'd suggest you try repairs and making some new parts as a learning effort for possible future scratch builds. If it doesn't work out, then order a new kit.
  5. If you want to remove the oars, think about a hole drilled through the top (the round area) where the oar fits. Then do a lock screw through the hole and into the oar. There's probably a better way but this is just off the top of my head as a simple way to do it.
  6. If you haven't done so, there's a link provided in post #43 of a document made by the former owner of Hobbymill on the care and feeding of the Byrnes saw.
  7. That's good news on the shots, Dan. I hope it all goes well and after your lockdown time, that you'll have fully recovered and back into your life.
  8. That's great news on Eduard doing the fret. I believe you're right about not many companies go that extra mile for customer service anymore. As for your upcoming absence. I hope it all goes well and you get a full recovery. Recently was there myself and all's well now.
  9. I'd do what Alan suggested. Hopefully, there's enough planes to help hide the ones without the PE.
  10. Mike. Can you post the actual build in the proper log area because if goes any further here, I'll be way off topic on this section of MSW? Thanks.
  11. Hmm.. just like you did here. What kind of "choice" were you looking for?
  12. I have one set and used it once. I think it's the older one since at that time they only had one set listed. I've found it easier just take an old razer blade and cut and shape to what I need. No fiddling with trying to make it work on a wood size they don't support.
  13. Beautiful model, Chris even if it's just a build/engineering prototype. That model is going to attract a lot of attention and hopefully sales for you.
  14. As somewhat of a luddite, I'm with you, but the world has moved on. MSW is probably the closest I come to social media.
  15. Congratulations, Rusty. That is very well deserved.
  16. You might also look around for places that sell "used" kitchenware... especially commercial items. They do make large pans like what you've made for bakeries, etc. I had one some years ago I bought used. And I'll add that lately 2nd hand stuff is pretty inexpensive as the shops that handle there have more offers of stock than customers.
  17. Here ya' go. Just click and save to a folder. Use at your discretion and risk. And now back to the build.
